I don't normally agree with AC on anything, she's jsut a loud mouth IMO. However, looking at the records side by side it looks almost even. Then when you factor in the socialist crap that's had McCain's name on it, TEB does look to actually be the more conservative choice. Crazy.

Vote third party as a protest vote. If you don't vote at all, that will be interpreted as apathy, when what you actually want to do is register disgust.

Interesting that republicans are threatening not to go vote. Usually poor voter turnout hurts the Dem's but it looks the other way this time.

While John McCain is probably my least favorite candidate on the Republican side, if it comes down to a race between him and Hilary/Obama, he will get my vote. I hope it doesn't come down to that - there is still a hope that something miraculous will occur between now and what seems as his inevitable nomination for the Republican Party.

With what seems a very likely possibility, if the next President is Hilary or Obama, they will be joined with a Democratic majority in the House and Senate and I shudder to think of what mischief that will bring. The most troubling aspect of this scenario is the very real possibility that several Supreme Court appointments are likely to be made along with all the federal court appointments that will surely be made and the rights of gun owners will be turned upside down. Can you imagine a Federal Judiciary stacked with clones of Ruth Bader Ginsburg? That is what we have to look forward to if they get their way.

Let me reiterate, I do not like John McCain. I applaud his service to his country as a fighter pilot and prisoner of war but that does not qualify one to be the President. He has made many bad decisions as far as I'm concerned. But I do think that if he were elected, the conservatives would be more likely to have some influence on him, moreso than on the alternative.

I can't help but think of the Presidential Election of 1992. Many conservatives were angry with Bush the Elder for his moderate political governance - especially following eight years under Mr. Right, Ronald Reagan.

Many conservatives abandoned Bush and voted for Ross Perot. Perot siphoned over 19 million votes away from Bush, and Clinton won the popular vote by just about 6 million votes.

Actually I think McCain has a better chance against Hillary. Hillary brings out the anti-Clinton voters. Obama is newer and doesn't have the political baggage. Also, McCain is not viewed by many to be an ultra-conservative and more of a moderate. McCain is more likely to take some Dem votes away from those who detest Hillary. Hillary isn't likely to take many Republican votes.

Actually, this is not true. If you vote for a third party, say Libertarian, and you are voting for what you believe in, then you are voting properly. What it does is move votes away from the primary two parties, it doesn't add weight in one direction or the other.

As others have said and I have said myself, we end up voting the lesser of two evils most of the time, I just hope to have a real choice.

That is a lie perpetuated by the media that does not match the evidence of the elections over the past 40 years. Reagan was elected with some the highest voter turnout to date as was W second term.

ron paul should go independent so there would "hypothetically" be 4 candidates to choose from. assuming there is a libertarian on the ballot. i agree as stated above that the 2 party system has gone the wrong way in the country and neither side is able to understand the populace as a whole. not that you can please all the people all the time. but having more options for people to express themselves versus just the elephant or the donkey may encourage the people to take a more active participation in their govt and maybe, just maybe realize how messed up the 2 major parties have become.

WASHINGTON - Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton said Sunday she might be willing to garnish the wages of workers who refuse to buy health insurance to achieve coverage for all Americans.

The New York senator has criticized presidential rival Barack Obama for pushing a health plan that would not require universal coverage. Clinton has not always specified the enforcement measures she would embrace, but when pressed on ABC's "This Week," she said: "I think there are a number of mechanisms" that are possible, including "going after people's wages, automatic enrollment."

Clinton said such measures would apply only to workers who can afford health coverage but refuse to buy it, which puts undue pressure on hospitals and emergency rooms. With her proposals for subsidies, she said, "it will be affordable for everyone."

All the Libertarian candidates want to pull all the troops back to the US. That does not mean just Iraq as they advertise but all troops from every where. And that would leave us at a very bad strategic disadvantage.

On topic: Hillary is vindictive as hell. She hates guns, she hates the NRA and she will make our lives miserable. It would be easy to shut down every gun dealer in the country by zealous enforcement actions. This would not require legislation at all, just the right nods at ATF. And she is very capable of doing this.

I would caution all those waving the flag of Ron Paul or threatening to stay at home that voting against Hillary is an imperative this time.
