Interesting and disturbing video.

Interesting video. I was quite surprised it was coming out of CBS. It is a little long, but definitely worth the watch.

http://hotair.com/archives/2010/12/20/video-the-coming-collapse-in-the-state-budgets/

We have seen over the past year all of the riots from public sector unions in Europe over austerity measures taken by their government. If we get fiscally responsible federal, state, and local governments that start to cut away at the public sector behemoth, which will have to happen if we are to avoid a total collapse of the system, what do you think the possibility of riots such as the aformentioned coming here?

The thing that disturbs me is how many people don't care or are oblivious to the fact that the money they seek is coming out of fellow americans pockets. Some take the attitude of, "I don't care who gets taxed just as long as I get mine." whereas others are just stuck on stupid.

One of the converstaions that I will never forget happened during an interview of a local lady in Detroit. This was back when the federal government was handing out money to various local communities.

Reporter: Why are you here?

Lady: To get some money.

Reporter: Where is it coming from?

Lady: Obama.

Reporter: Where did Obama get it?

Lady: His stash. I don't know. I don't know where he gets it from, but he (is) given(ing it) to us.

Lady: We love him (Obama). That is why we voted for him.

Well, that was an interesting video, but what came up from the link does not seem related to what you are talking about.

I can tell you this scares the crap out of me. I work for a large Engineering Firm in the Water/Waste water sector. In the past we have always been able to ride out recessions, because the Government (Federal, State and Local) would pump money into infrastructure projects and pay for them with bond issues. If the State Governments start defaulting on their Bonds, there will be no money to finance these projects and they will dry up quick. Our business will go down the tubes along with most of the Construction Industry. That's a lot of people out of work.

I've already changed jobs once because of the public sector engineering drying up and the company I currently work for, laid off most of the people doing it's public sector work over the last year. And now this. This could be very bad indeed!
