Seriously mav? I might try to make it over there today. I haven't been there looking at 1911s yet. Last time I was in there I avoided the 1911 section (I find it to be a good idea for crack addicts to avoid crack)

Dammit, I have my head up my butt today. No, sorry. For some reason I was thinking Ed Brown. Those are top notch as well.

I would think with current price gouging, Les Baer is the best bang for the buck. The rest of the money can send you to Thunder Ranch or Gunsite, for some training.

Ok, I think I've looked at all my considerations and have decided my two choices are a ed brown lobes series or special forces series.

I have a Ed Brown Special Forces on order. Stainless, with Gen III stealth gray lower, Gen III black slide, barrel Bushing, and Trigger. The barrel crown will be flush cut, my name in place of Brown on the bushing. No writing on either side of the slide and VZ carbon fiber grips. and a 10-8 rear sight.

I also have a Les Baer Stinger on order, having the Ambi safety deleted, and no writing on the slide either and night sights added.

I just could not decide between Baer and Brown. Brown seems to have more polish in the finish, Baer is more rugged. So I got the Baer for daily carry.
