Greetings from IL.

My name is John B. and among other hats, I'm the editor emeritus of GunNews Magazine, the monthly journal of Guns Save Life. Click here.

Anyway, besides the interstates that occasionally bring me through your fine state, I found a photograph of Brazilnuts' (sp?) wife in a thread on Walther P22s that I'm seeking his permission to use in an upcoming article excoriating Chicago for their list of "unsafe" guns which is effectively like the "Army - Navy" laws after the Civil War (or War Between the States) that were passed to keep the recently freed slaves from guns by eliminating affordable handguns for them.

Believe it or not, the Walther P22 is on this list. I LOL'd when I saw that as I have one and have a similar expression on my face when I shoot mine as Priscila did with hers.

Like most of your members, I've got a carry permit. Well, three actually. Unfortunately none in IL although I assure you we're working hard on changing that, despite Chicago stealing this last election and re-installing Quinn. The lesson: Chicago's vote fraud can account for up to 7% of the votes as that's how consistently far ahead our man Brady was in the days before the election.

I also am involved with some great guys teaching personal defense handgun classes - both NRA Personal Protection and non-NRA intermediate level stuff, as well as basic urban rifle coursework. I haven't had any TN students yet though.

My wife says I'm married to guns, and I tell her I was married to them ten years before I met her.

That's all for today. Keep up the good work down in TN. I particularly like the fact you folks now have restaurant carry and have a fairly well educated police that won't harass you for open carry too much.

All the best.

John

Welcome. thumbsup.gif

I moved here from Champaign 12 years ago. I hope Illinois can work out some type of carry permit. If we can separate it from the 2nd amendment argument I think we may have a shot. (I still have family there and spend a lot of time there.)

If anyone knows Brasilnuts, let him know Oleg Volk is interested in using his wife for an upcoming shoot...
