I've know quite a few gays over the years (I did spend 6 years living in New Orleans, ya know.) To my knowledge, none of them just woke up one day and said "ya know what, I'm gonna be gay now." Almost universally, they all stated that they had always known they were gay. The only choice they made, however, was to stop fearing the bigots and religious fanatics and start being honest about their preferences.

ATTENTION: Do not attempt to Google that cup business. The description alone transcends the bounds of outrageous perversity.

Dayum!

I did. It's more of a fetish movie than a lesbian movie.

LOL...back on topic... Its still a violation of the UCMJ to "commit" SODOMY. Just cause you can now say..."hey Skipper...I'm gay"...doesn't mean you CAN'T be busted for it. I see a lot of hazing and ostrisizing on the way

DADT was good for only one reason.

It made the gays keep their mouths

shut. The "gay" movement is ripe for

politics. Just a bunch of "victims".

If you want to be something, go ahead. I don't care, but don't sit around and say it wasn't your choice,

either. I know enough gays, too, and

a huge lot of them are nothing but

victims of their own insecurity. I've

known others that you wouldn't know

if they were or not until they had to

tell you. I respect them.

Laws that are passed to protect a

particular class usually hurt another

class by design and cause liberty

to fail. I don't care whether one is

gay or not, but I do care about

liberty and legislation specifically

for gays is wrong. Aah hell, let's

see how well they reproduce.

Keep coddling gays, girls and boys.

Some of you almost sound as if you

bought into too much political correctness.

But... wasn't this a repeal of a law that was passed to protect Homophobic folks?

It was "designed" to protect the ALTERNATIVE LIFESTYLE folk...hows that for PC...in the event that they were OUTED...that...was original intent.

Folks:____________

Iv'e taken the liberty of annotating Chuck's great quote a bit. The quote is right in a multitude of ways. The first is the original meaning, i believe there are others. Here we go:

Max California: There are some things that you see (...and do thru legislation...), and you can't unsee (...repeal or change...) them. Know what I mean? ...If you dance with the devil, the devil don't change. The devil changes you.

The whole "Dont Ask, Dont Tell" repeal thing is about laying the groundwork to make a case that says that openly gay folks are a persecuted minority. This has nothing to do about serving as an openly gay soldier in the military and everything to do about laying the groundwork to grant them (...the entire "gay" community; both military and not-military...) federally protected minority status as a class of people. The Gay Rights movement desperately wants to legitimize their cause and make it a "civil rights" issue similarly to what was done in the late 50's with the end of segregation in the military (...check this out for the history lesson: End of U.S. Military Segregation Set Stage for Rights Movement ....). This is the "Holy Grail" for the gay movement; to legitimize and protect them as a class; and give them federal protectons and advantages that "straight" citizens do not have.

If the gay community is made a "legitimate" minority, you can expect mischief everywhere. The legitimate minorities should be deeply offended by this move. Race and gender is an individual characteristic that a "Creator" or "nature" (...depending on your individual world view or belief system...) confers on an individual basis. "Gayness" is a sexual preference that the individual decides to practice; they aint the same thing. This is simply the fulfillment of another hippy era goal of "changing the immutable laws".

This aint about honoring the patriotism of "gay" folks; its about advancing a heinous political and social agenda at the expense of the military (...both gay and straight...). Dont be dragged off into the woods by those who are making speeches about honoring the brave who serve. That aint what this is about. It's about a movement whose aim is to "legitimize" and sanctify as a "minority" the illegitimate at the expense of the military one one side; and the shameless pandering to a "pseudo-minority" with money on the other side --- Remember the "Log Cabin" (...read that gay...) Republicans started this whole dust-up.

The fact of the matter is that Nobama, the Demorats, and a bunch of cynical Republicans are actively currying the favor and devotion of the "gay community" at the expense of the military and everyone else. It's about buying votes and collecting favors. Everything is for sale now; that's the great "immorality" of this whole debacle.

Food for thought.

Geez Leroy :D

:shake:

Leroy does make a good point. The legitimization of homosexuality via legal means does put them in the same category as minorities who are discriminated upon based upon skin color, ethnicity or religion (initially). Things that obviously cannot be changed.

However, there is great debate that being gay is not a "choice" but is indeed inherent to its practitioners. I am inclined to believe people are born that way, not all, but some are "incurable".

My personal issue is with making one's sexuality a matter of debate or national policy, or like we saw several years ago, a conservative distraction designed to draw attention away from failed foreign policy. It really is assinine.

What people do behind closed doors is no one else's business. Period.

Openly celebrating what majorities may consider "perverse" I do have an issue with, but, once again, if everyone just focused on their own lives and quit worrying about what the rest of the world is doing we would be a lot bettter off.

For you good people who are actively serving or have served, I'm pretty sure unacceptable behaviour will be dealt with. As it always has been.

Well, if it were only one Quack making the claim, I'd probably agree with you. But given that it's not, and that there's apparently been a lot of study of it... I can't write it off as just wishful thinking on anybody's part.

Dozens of minor studies have been conducted, but practically nobody has heard of them and they produced no real scientific results. There have really only been 3 major studies of this kind (Hamer, LeVay, and Bailey/Pillard). For the record, all 3 major studies were conducted by gay activists.

In all 3 cases they got huge media publicity when they published their work. But, when attempts to replicate their studies uncovered major faults in all 3 studies ranging from outright fabrication of data and unwarranted assumptions to sloppy practices (refusing to use a control group) there was no fanfare.

Since the first major study in 1993, we've all heard about the scientists studying the gay gene and that's all that "stuck" b/c that's all the press fed us. The truth is all 3 major studies were debunked, but that doesn't sell newspapers or 30-second commercial spots on the nightly news. So, the general public goes on thinking there is some real science behind the "born gay" claim.

You may be right, but in the end, I really don't think it matters. People are never going to learn to mind their own business and go their own way, so there's always going to be some point of contention. Religion, sexual preference, politics... or what caliber your gun should be. Something is always found.

And when it comes right down to it, this one isn't any more important than any of those others. As I said much further up, it's much ado about nothing.

Are you guys seriously saying that you could choose to have sex with men? I mean that is what I am getting from the statement that homos are making a conscious decision to go after guys.

I do not have to make a choice between a man or a woman. I have no choice. I am attracted to women.

Good point. Who's copying who? Hard to tell since they are all in the same tent, politically.

Homos are another left wing conspiracy?

So, given that politicians are screwing us all, is it that they just wanna justify homosexuality, and claim "we can't help it. we were born this way" themselves? :)
