Are you left-handed? It's kinda counter-intuitive – to me – for a right-handed shooter to mount the shells in the carrier upside down like that. Wouldn't it take kind of a weird roundabout method with your weakside hand to reload the gun out of te shell carrier?

If you notice, those are (I assume) secondary as there are shells mounted on the stock on the strong side as well

Caveman,

The rack is a commercial product. I bought it so long ago that I have forgotten the commercial name but I believe that it was something like "Home Backup". I've kept my Mossy "slick" as I really like my defensive equipment simple. The gun itself is wearing the Hogue stock because it didn't have a stock. The piece was a survivor of the tornado we had here in 2008. When I acquired it had been a field gun but had a split stock and a twisted barrel from the storm.

I put an 18 1/2"different barrel on it with and fitted the Hogue stock. The Hogue is easy to hold onto with wet or sweaty hands. I fit all of my 12 gauges with the LimbSaver and the Trijicon bead was just a "why the h*** not" afterthought.

This an Old Warrior "come back from the dead" and ready to rock and roll.

I keep it in "Cruiser Mode" (tube loaded, chamber empty and safety "off") as there are no children at home anymore.

Which are also mounted in such a way that it'd put one's left hand (assuming he's right handed) into a position that isn't really suited for quickly stripping them out of the carrier to reload the weapon in a big ****ing hurry – which it seems the situation we're discussing in this thread would lend one to need to do.

This is all assuming, of course, that all that ****'s not hanging off it just because he likes throwing money at stuff.

Which is a totally valid reason to do it, of course.

Hell, it's not like any of it matters.

No, my main EDC is a 1911, and my night stand gun is a M&P9. I figure if I'm scrambling to get a gun after being suddenly woken, I want something that just points and shoots, no extra movements or operations.

I store my EDC on the nightstand right next to my nightstand gun? They're usually both 1911s, the nightstand gun has a light on it

Yes, EDC is nighstand as well. Since I can't carry at work or keep it in my car ;) It typically moves from safe to nightstand after I put my son to bed. Then it goes back in the safe when I leave for work (before he's up).

Yes, when i get dressed in the morning, it gets put on my belt. At night, it goes back on the nightstand.

I have a revolver on my nightstand and my carry is a M&P9. My thinking on the revolver is that if I am woken from a dead sleep I want something that I can just point and shoot. No jams to worry about. Simple.

As there are no children in my home, I have guns in several locations in the house. The ones I carry are usually in my desk or beside the computer, if not being carried.

An XD45 is usually my nightstand gun as I usually carry a smaller gun.

I carry a Glock 27 and with small kids in the house it goes in the top of the closet when I go to bed. The Glock 22 with laser/ light is in the Gun Vault safe in the night stand. I would be fine with the 27 at night if it had a rail.

Yes, with backups

The backups are there just in case my wife needs one while I am away. She knows how to use them, also since she does not have her permit yet not to leave the house with them.

Yep, G27 for both.

I got the G27 as a backup originally, but it has become a primary carry when i don't want the size and weight of a 1911.

Had mine for a couple of years now and I love it more and more each day - just a really well-designed firearm that's comfy to carry.
