Everyone seems to want a smaller gun to hide but, here are some cell phone pics of what I hide with a MTAC holster.

It is the one I picked up from you.

You'd be suprised that it really doesn't show very much. I normally carry a G23 in a Smart Carry holster but, I wore this one last week to prove to someone that a Government model 1911 could be hidden effectively. When I got home, my 12 year old, who is a very experienced shooter for 12, said something about me carrying the Glock. I told him I didn't have it on and it took him a minute of looking before he noticed the clips on the MTAC. I also have the velcro clips and boy does it really disappear then!

The only thing I have to watch out for is when I'm called to the VP's office. If I sit in one of his leather chairs, the butt of the gun will leave an indention in the leather. He's asked that I don't lean back in the chair if I'm wearing that holster.

How's that for a carry friendly workplace?

I never buy it when someone says they can't conceal a full size gun. It just means they aren't trying or just don't know how.

This. I'm 6'2 180 pounds and I conceal a Kimber Pro Carry II all the time.

As a little guy, 5'9" 165lbs, I can easily conceal a Commander sized 1911, CZ75 or Ruger SP101 with oversized grips.

I think it the choice of clothing which affects effective concealment.

With form fitting T-shirts or tighter golf style shirts, printing becomes an issue for me.

As the OP clearly demonstrates, a full cut shirt, whether a dress or casual, tucked or un-tucked, with a good holster and belt, will get the job done.

Printing has been an issue for me with the Kimber if I want to wear a tighter shirt, but then I'll just wear the Kel-Tec IWB, but mostly I can conceal my Kimber fine.

Many people aren't willing to change anything, including their manner of dress. That's what makes it difficult. You have to be willing to commit to carrying a weapon for it to work.

I've had the holster a year or two so I don't recall how long it took but, I wouldn't look for it until next week sometime. It will take a little breaking in before it fully molds to you. Give it some time to break in.

loose clothes all the time. have no problem hiding 8 in. 44 with shoulder holster. close friends that know will take bets on if or what i am packing for the day.

I'm one of them. I'm sorry, but I don't feel I should have to change my manner of dress significantly. With all the choices out there in terms of holster style and gun size, I opted to buy a smaller gun in order to carry more regularly. With my IWB Blackhawk holster, I can easily conceal my PM40 with most clothes, and can remove the holster/gun combo without having to undo my belt. I'm compromised number of bullets for carry ability and have only minimally altered my lifestyle. Everyone has to make a decision for themselves.

Hiding a large gun isn't the problem, IMO, so much as being able to quickly and easily access a large gun that is also well hidden. I'm not saying that it can or can't be done - although it is probably more difficult for those of us who cannot carry IWB - I'm simply saying that, IMO, the larger the gun the harder it would be to keep it well hidden while also making it easy and quick to draw in the event that it is needed.

i was just looking for a MTAC holster for my railed 1911 and was led to believe they don't make one. am i missing something?
