Empty unopened beer cans

This has nothing to do with guns. I found three cans of Coca Cola in a storage box in my garage. They had been there probably 5 years or so. Two are empty and the other one is almost empty. The cans are unopened, still sealed and no holes. I told a friend about this and he said that he has some cans of Billy Beer that are the same way. I Googled this phenomenon but found nothing to support it. Has anybody else run across this?

Aluminum can develop pin holes, think needle holes, slow leak so small liquid evaporates as it oozes out over time.

The thin plastic on those gallon drinking water jugs can do same thing.

Older two and three piece steel cans could do the same but they usually leaked at the seams and faster.

Btw, them Billy cans are still worth about the same as ever to collectors -- fifty cents tops. :squint:

It happens. As mentioned above the can will deteriorate over time and develop holes. You may never notice the holes, but they are there and the beverage will evaporate.

I see it all the time. But then again, I am in the beverage business. It is even worse with diet drinks.

Once bought a 12 pack of coke and had an unopened and empty can inside. I set it aside to save but my mom threw it away!! Arrrrahhhhhhh!!!

I'll admit, I'd be pretty pissed if I open up a 12 pack of Coke to find out I couldn't drink one--let alone beer. I buy Coors to drink :squint:

Biggest paycheck I ever made while working at Strohs distributor was the week we rolled out Billy beer. of course you didn't sell much Strohs to begin with

I bought a six pack of Bass ale only to find one empty and another only 1/4 full. I chocked it up to technical difficulties at the bottling plant.
