All Dressed Up

Got up at 6:00am this morning, dressed for work, went out to the car, just about busted my azz! Solid coating of ice about 1/4" thick over everything. The salt job yesterday on the streets did absolutely no good. Temp is still stuck at 31, just called in to work and told them, "forget it". Maybe I'll have better luck tomorrow! Anybody else stuck in the house today?

We had patches of ice on the roads yesterday (nothing bad), and this morning it was 59 degrees outside.

Me, sitting here atop Lookout Mountain. My car slid down the driveway last night when I pulled in, despite the roads being fairly safe. Driveway's still slick this morning, so I can't get the car back up it to get out.

Today is my off day, however my wife is all upset she can't go to work.

never mind no one else is getting to were she works, she is worried she can't. She had been on the phone with her boss who also can not get to work.

I have been telling her, work is not worth wreaking a car and personal injury that they will not cover. They would just tell her if it was that bad she should have known better and stayed home.

I don't get that luxury......Radio is always open for business so unless it is a coat of ice EVERYWHERE, i will go in....although it was like 50 when i left the house this morning....39 now....

Fort Knox is still covered in half an inch of ice.

Roads are terrible and I'm supposed to leave tomorrow, and it's gonna freeze again tonight.

I walk to work, 5 minutes usually (faster than starting the car and braving the road conditions)--took me 15 last night. Ice was everywhere, and I had to walk on the grass beside to sidewalk because of it. I still don't think my shoes are dry.
