I think it or me is getting more accurate...I think it's going up for sale though...I want a Range Officer now. PM me the price of yours. This one will come with plenty of goodies.

I just got a govt size AC 2. Would there be a list of "pre-emptive repair parts" that would make sense to acquire? Sounds like wouldn't be a bad idea to get a spare barrel bushing. Anything else?

Try ejecting a loaded round. If it hangs your extractor might be out of spec like mine was. The nose wasn't contoured like it should have been. It fired and ejected empties just fine but not loaded ammo. I put an Ed Brown one in mine and it was been flawless since.

Other than those two things I also replaced all the interals just for added safety because mine is my carry gun. It may not have had any issues with the MIM parts but I didn't want to take a chance.

Get a good molybendum disulfide grease for the break in. Use it on the rails and the lugs.

Thanks Dolomite

Hopefully it will get warm enough tomorrow and I'll get back from visiting relatives in time to test it out.

Would lithium grease be OK for break-in? I have some lithium grease on hand. Along with Militec-1, Hoppe's, Rem Oil, and CLP. Supposedly Rem Oil and CLP are very similar.

I cleaned off the packing grease and lubed with Rem Oil already, but it wouldn't be any trouble putting something else in there. Have lately been using mostly Rem Oil on the pistols and rifles, but they get cleaned pretty often. There is typically some lube still in there on each cleaning.

Any grease is better than none but I use the moly because it supposedly treats the metal. I can say from personal experience that by adding the moly grease to trigger parts the trigger does become smooter and lighter. It also seems to remain that way after the grease is no longer on the parts.

I started using it last year after doing a lot of research into coatings and treatments.

I don't like Remoil, it is too thin and offers very little lubrication. It does seem to work for pretecting but even in that role it doesn't last. If you soak a gun with it the Remoil will evaporate leaving a gummy film behind.

The best, easiest and cheapest place to get the moly grease is at Walmart. In the automotive section they sell grease gun tubes of the stuff for around $4. I use it all the time and have only made it through about 1/8th of the tube.

Thanks Dolomite, I'll get some moly grease from wally world.

That Militec-1 is supposed to treat the metal surface too, but I haven't used it much lately. It may treat the surface, but doesn't feel especially 'slick'. So I couldn't get much confidence up that it was doing something wonderful that I couldn't really see.

I got the impression from using rem oil that the carrier evaporates but leaves some teflon behind, but could be mistaken.

Let me tell you this....I ran 5200+ rounds through it, no cleaning, no oil, no nothing. It ran perfect. I replaced the bushing for a preventative measure.
