Yeah, you can do that too... but in the end it's only trading one sort of bad weather for another. And myself, I'm too damned old to be living anyplace I might occasionally have to evacuate, due to hurricanes and such.

I don't like cold and snow, but I much prefer it to high winds.

Hurricane Parties are the best;) And besides hurricanes only come sometimes, it gets cold here every year without fail.....speaking of which, I guess they were right it is right at 14 degrees at 3AM I wonder how much lower it will go before morn.;)

Got 18 here, at 3:51am, and the weather-guessers are calling for 7 for a low tomorrow night. ( technically, I guess that would be "tonight" now... )

Oh well, it looks like summer is really over. ;)

The theory goes that it isnt just warming in the summer but throwing weather patterns off in all seasons you realize?

Yea, I am aware of their explanations and arguments to support their cause. I just aint buying it. I am all for energy conservation, polution reduction and enviromentally responsible behavior. We even did the TVA energy right gig Spring of this year. Had the auditor out, did the windows, new HVAC, insulation improvement and the whole bit. Our home is now officially "Energy Star Compliant", and it is saving us plenty, not to mention the Tax credits and cash back.

We scrapped our plans to restore the Huge Victorian we were renting to own in the 4th an Gill area bout 4 years ago. Elected to downsize instead and find a small house we could build some equity into on top of the annual increase in value;then move further into the country and decrease our energy, food and water dependance a whole lot more. We plan to make the next move 4-5 years from now.

BTW, glad to know your a former resident of "Sherwood Forest". We live on the South side of Maloney as well, in the Mt Olive area. I love the spacious yards, privacy and Lots of trees. The locals are pleasant as well for the most part.
