Are there any places that sell flags (preferably historic types (First Navy Jack, etc.) in the Knoxville area?

Are they made in the USA? There are certain flags which I would consider a blasphemy to purchase if they were made elsewhere. :)

I used to order a 5x8 Confederate Flag about ever 1 1/2 years online, made in America. Can't remember what company. They were some nice flags also. They stayed up 24/7 12 mons.

I wonder if Greene Military on Kingston Pike or Cherokee Suplus on Broadway would have something appropriate?

They may very well do that. I'll have to check.

Try "The Map Store" off I-640. It's on Dutchtown Rd. nearest the Broadway exit.

I've seen flags there. Google "the map store knoxville" and give em a call before buring $3.00/gal. gas from OR and back.

I've seen a few flags at Greene's. I bought a TN state flag there a month ago but the guy had to take it down from the ceiling where it was on display.

Sometimes the banner and sign companies will have/sell/make flags so that could be an option if you strike out other places.

Regarding US made flags I found a place in Michigan that makes/sells US flags. FlagstoreUSA.com

they do have some historical flags, gadsden, betsy ross, etc...

If I am not mistaken they went out of business.

I have bought flags from Greene's before.

It has been several years, but they had a large rack that you had to sort through, similar to a poster rack. They had something like 50 flags last I recall.

If you can't find what you need locally, check out Aradyne Flags at Buy Flags, Flag manufacturer, Online Flags, Flag Makers, US Flags - Aradyne Flags .

It's a company in Texas. Their American flags are made here in the US. I don't know about their other flags. The stars are embroidered, not stamped/printed. I think they sew on the stars on really big flags. I've purchased several 3'x5' all-weather nylon ones over the past decade from them. I've never had one tear. I replace them due to fading after about 3 years of non-stop service. The Boy Scouts retire them for me.
