I owe my rep an apology

I have posted on here about the lack of response to several emails I've bent my house rep (Ben West) regarding the restaurant carry bill. I had forgotten that he was one of the main sponsors of the original carry bill when we went to "shall issue"

Instead of e-mailing me back, as I had been expecting. He called me today to make sure I understood that he was 100% behind the bill..but as we all know the judiciary committee and Naifeh in Mr Wests word, just don't what the bill to pass. He said he is talking to all his friends in the house, some of who are on the committee, and it if comes to the floor it's got a good shot passage...but...the same old two roadblocks to any progress are still there. He also expressed some of the same gripes we have about leaving guns at home/in cars juswt because we want something better than a burger.

Not GREAT news, but..news none the less.

Well a rep who actually calls one of his/her constituents over one of their concerns is alright in my book.

Maybe it's me, but it seems harder for me to find the info like sponsors on the state website this year. Probably senility, but maybe not?????

The format on the website seems the same to me this year as years past.

But it could be me just being too lazy to look for differences...lol

I've heard this as well. A friend of mine is fairly close to Rep. West, has worked with him on various projects in the district, and even did a little campaigning for him. She's told me consistently that he is EVERYWHERE and is all about constituent service.To me, this is the value of the small house districts -its possible for the local rep to be involved in the community. Its nice to see at least some of them hold that ideal close.
