Nice!

I saw a few people getting their 0551s this week. Hopefully H.E.S.T.s are shipping by the end of the week.

My 0551 was sent back to ZT by my dealer, QC issue or something not sure when I will get it

I was told by someone else that the HEST is on hold for the moment, they are trying to ensure that it is 100% built in America and want to ensure that it can be, I will let you know if I hear anything else, please do the same if you do

Very nice. You certainly have good taste when it comes to knives and guns.

Thank you for the kind words, you have pretty damn good taste in guns and knives as well :P

I don't know anything about that knife, but that blade is a work of art...

Rick Hinderer calls the grind on that "Spanto", it is a cross between a Tanto and a Spear point and is one of my favorite blade profiles

It's beautiful. I'm going to have to save my pennies...

I think this first run is pretty well locked in. From what I've heard, they did 250 serial numbered limited editions, and then took preorders from their dealers. That will represent the first run, and may be the last for a while. I've seen pictures of the production pieces, and had heard they were really happy with Lion Steel. For future runs, I could see them bringing it stateside.

I'm hoping to see it in the next week or so. I think RYP would have let us know if something was affecting delivery.

I'll let you know if I hear anything.

Another nice one Steve. Hoping Santa will bring me a Sebenza this year. Then I'll start working on the Hinderer...

Hopefully Santa will bring you a Sebenza, you will love it!!

I just received my XM-24. I thought the ZT0300 was robust. It is nothing like the XM-24. I don't really understand why a lot of people won't carry their XMs. This is a knife that is meant to be used and is built well enough to handle very hard use. I will carry mine. I will post some pics when I get it all dressed out.

Very nice! I have a question, what makes the Hinderer knife liked so much compared to like a ZT? I just saw the prices on these and you can buy a gun for what these cost lol. Let me know why I don't have one yet!

I can't really give you a good answer on that one. My best guess would be the collectability and quality of his knives. Zero Tolerance are great knives. I own nine of them. However, if you were to compare a ZT0551 to my XM-24, you would see and feel the difference. Is it worth 3 - 5 times the cost? That is all up to the individual. I think it is fair to say that the vast majority of non-knife geek people the answer is a definite no.

(edit) I want to add one thing. I would tell most people who want to buy a Hinderer or a Hinderer-designed knife to buy a ZT0551 or the new ZT0561 over a XM-18 or XM-24. The ZTs are a heck of a lot cheaper, although still expensive, and they are absolutely fantastic knives. In my case, I wanted a Hinderer XM-24, and found a decent price on one so I bought it.

First off they are built by Rick Hinderer one at a time. While the Zt's are fine knifes they are mass produced and not near what the real Hinderer knives are. If you have never held one it is hard to describe, you can feel the quality and they are overbuilt like you would not believe, a serious tool that you could take to Hell and back, so to me anyway they are worth every cent and more.
