Strange phonecall this evening...

'Bout 4:00pm, the phone rings. I look at the caller I.D. and it's the vet's office.

Hmm... we don't have any pending appointments, don't owe him any money, and aren't expecting any results back from test etc.... so I'm puzzled as hell as to what it could be about.

So, being semi-intelligent, I answers the phone:

Me: Hello?

Doc Burkhart: Jamie? It's Doc... You have one'a those NAA revolvers, don'tcha?

Me: Hi Doc, yeah, you know I do. What's up?

Doc: How the hell do you get the cylinder pin out to load the damned thing?

Me: Wha...? :)

To cut a long story short, I went through the dis-assembly/loading/unloading process for the gun, and the doctor got everything under control. Strange though how some people get to know you for certain things... Wasn't long ago, out of the clear blue, the fellow who owns the liquor store we frequent stopped me to ask about a particular .25 auto somebody wanted to sell him. And though I've known the guy for years, guns have never really been a subject we'd ever spoken on 'til then.

Anyway, I just thought it was amusing and thought I'd share. My wife about died laughing when I told her about the call.

At least you could help. Maybe he'll help you when time for a bill comes.

He already has, many times.

Matter of fact, I'll probably run up there Friday or Saturday, just to make sure everything went as it should.

When you ask the vet it is a hundred bucks, when the vet asks you it is a freebie!

I'm kidding, our vet is great.

i don't begrudge them a dime of their charges. But I can see how people might resent them.

We are good friends with our large animal vet. Sometimes we get a bill and sometimes we dont. Usually if we do it is a small one. If it is a large one we never seem to get them. Hmmmmm. We very rarely have to have him out to the farm for anything but when we do he usually charges us just the 55.00 farm call doesnt charge us for meds or for anything else he does.

Our vet is great also. Always show personal interest, sends flowers &card when we have canine loss. His daughters have dog/house sat for us. even thought it was funny when one of the danes was caught on all fours on top of his daughters mini cooper.

The guilty one ! the black and white one, not the orange one
