Wells Station Santa House - a Memphis tradition

For those of you in the Memphis area, just wanted to post this in case some of you might want to participate.

Thursday, December 9th, the Memphis Harley Owners Group will be meeting at Bumpus Harley Davidson on Whitten at 6:30pm to head over to the Wells Station Santa House at 1491 Wells Station taking the food that has been collected over the past few weeks to Santa Dan.

We think this will probably be the last year Santa Dan makes this appearance due to the failing health of his wife. We’re hoping to make this one of the biggest years ever.

If the weather gets bad or you don't have enough time to go home and get your bike (or don’t ride), you are more than welcome to follow everyone in your vehicle.

(I know I’m going to be in the car if it doesn’t warm up some before Thursday. I’m still trying to thaw out from our ride Sunday.)

If you can’t attend but still want to help, you can drop off your nonperishable food items at Bumpus.

Story from FOX last year…with video.

Sponsored by St. James Catholic Church, the Santa Claus House has been a Memphis tradition for more than thirty years. Located at 1491 Wells Station, the Santa Claus House offers a personalized Santa experience. As your child approaches Santa, you are directed to a sound booth where you tell Santa about your child via an earpiece carefully concealed in his ear. Santa will know your child by name and will be fully aware if he or she has been bad or good! Please bring a canned good for the needy when you come for your visit.

The ride to Santa Dan's place will have to be postponed until some time next week. Due to weather, health, and confusion with scheduling, they will not be there tonight!

Sorry for any inconvenience. Let's just use the time to come up with more food and money to help out the needy that can be dropped off at Bumpus HD.

They are also taking toys for the LeBonheur Children's Hospital until Saturday Dec 11. at 11am.
