First off, I actually finished this build like 3 months ago, but never got around to really posting anything about it. This is the first time I've built an AR-15, and was originally going to do it about 2yrs ago, but that money went towards the warranty on my car (priorities right?). Anyway, I'm really happy with how it turned out, and wasn't nearly as difficult to build as I expected (I do hate roll pins though). Anyway, there's a full parts list and more assembly pictures on my blog, but here is the finished product:

The rest of the pictures I took are here:

I've only fired .223 in it one time so far, over at Sportsman's Choice back in September, and because of school and work, I haven't really had much time to go back to the range, but now that I'm finding some really good deals on .223/5.56 ammo, I'll be shooting a lot more.

There's no flash suppressor on it right now, but I have a suppressor on order (YHM SS Phantom), which comes with the QD flash hider, so that will take care of that. Anyway, here's the video of my first shoot (note how bright the flash is without a flash hider!):

That is all, now I just need to shoot it more! :D

Thanks guys. I have another 400rds of 5.56 coming in tomorrow, so me and my friend are going to the range again next weekend i think. Of course, when I placed my order for some more stuff last week, I forgot the front sight tool that i kind of need, but it's ok for now.

R110R, I have the YHM QDS flip up front and rear sights and I have a Primary Arms M4 with a 5x magnifier. As much as I would like an ACOG, EO Tech or Aimpoint red dot, for what I'm using it for, I can't justify paying $1200 (ACOG) or $400+ (EO Tech/Aimpoint) for a higher quality optic, and the Primary Arm's M4 is actually very nice, especially for how much it costs.

Nice build. I really like the Primary Arms sight. I'm in the same boat as you. Can't justify the cost of the more expensive optics, especially with backup iron sights on board.

Thanks guys. JReedEsq, so far so good. I've been playing around with it a lot, and it's still going strong. Then again, I've been pretty careful with it too (trying not to throw it around or drop it). I still don't have it sighted in properly yet though, I need to get a front sight tool for my flip up sight so I can get a good co-witness on it.

Very nice looking gun you built, Eric. I like to build them as much as shooting them.
