Question regarding trigger pull.

It appears that I have developed a glitch in my shooting that I am now shooting slightly left from poa on all of my handguns. I had posted a thread asking about using a laser as a diagnostic tool to perhaps show what I am doing. Based upon the responses I got, it seems that it wasn't a very good idea.

I was wondering if you developed a smooth and consistent trigger squeeze on a gun with a much heavier trigger pull, would it mean increased smoothness and accuracy on a gun with a lighter trigger?

I own one da/sa handgun (FNP-45). I worked with it yesterday for about an hour in da only. After I was finished I picked up my G34 with a Vanek trigger and it seemed like I could just blow on the trigger and it would fire.

Any advice or comments? Thanks.

Can't speak from experience, but I would think it'd be the opposite. I'd thing going from a long, heavy squeeze, you'd be more inclined to pull it back faster, since there's less tension and it may throw off your shots if you're jerking the trigger....again, not speaking from experience.

One thing you should pay attention to either next time you go shoot or when you do some dry-firing is your finger placement on the trigger. You want just the pad of your finger on the trigger instead of the joint of your finger which may cause you to pull it left.

If you are right handed, then it is mostlikely your grip. and if you are left handed then mostlikely it is going to be the way you position your finger on the trigger. Either way, you should make sure that the force exerted on the pistol grip from all fingers are equal.

mav,

Goggle Todd Jarrett. He has some great youtube videos on gun handling. And he likes using a laser to help develop trigger pull.

Here is one...

If I can make a suggestion on the Glock trigger that helped me shoot them much better. Installing an over-travel stop in the trigger. There are a few ways to accomplish it in a Glock. I personally used the "Ghost Rocket 3.5" 3.5 lb. ROCKET it has over-travel built in but requires fitting. An easy to install kit Lone Wolf Distributors - Product Detail - Lone Wolf "Pro Pick" Trigger Kit My problem with Glocks were not the the heavy pull but the bounce at the end.
