Took my permit class on 11/13 in Memphis while on a business trip. Came back to Nashville and went to the DMV on 11/17. Went and got fingerprinted on 11/18 and mailed it in on 11/19.

Merry Christmas to me, the HCP came in the mail today! 12/4

Just thought I would share.

They seem to be moving very quickly these days, that's for certain. Congrats!

That’s just over two weeks including the mail time. willy_nilly.gif

Someone in government has done something that very rarely happens and I think they need to be recognized for it. They have cut a major portion of the :poop: bureaucracy out of this.

Either that or they just hired a bunch more people and added to the bureaucracy. :puke:

When they realize they screwed up and got your permit processed so quickly, they'll revoke it, and make you reapply for the 9 month wait.

Good deal - congratulations! Are you sure your cousin doesn't work there, LOL.

That's what I have been hearing from others. I talked to a guy on Friday that got his in two weeks. They sure have things running better than what they did when I was waiting on mine to come in.

I got mine in the middle of October with roughly a 2 weeks wait as well, I read somewhere that a lot of it is just the number of applications isn't very high so they aren't backlogged in processing. That, or as you all are suggesting maybe they did some hiring or cut out some of the BS to get it processed quicker.

Either way I am happy and hope it keeps up for all the future applicants.

And I was pleased with a 30 day turnaround. That's great! Congratulations on having no known

felonies, record of mental disorder or being adjudicated incompetent, etc.

I knew there were more of us. :)

Wonder if the state now sends out a renewal notice. I had to take the class again when mine was expired nearly a year before I realized it had expired. I sure don't want that to happen again.

AFAIK They have always sent out renewal notices.

Did they have your correct address?

I had the correct address I just never got a renewal notice. Mine expires 5/2011 so I'll renew sometime after first of year. Better safe than sorry.

Hmmm, never know what happens sometimes.

Yep, I usually renew at least 3-4 months out myself.
