They say some of the most outrageous stuff, when they could be acknowledging

their mistake. They have to think just like Goebbels and his practice. There's no

other plausible reason.

Yes, the Republican Party has plenty of problems, too, but they usually admit

their defeat and move on to the next election.

This stuff is just too funny and it shows the willing accomplices in the media

that let the Dems have their say.

And therein lies one of the fundamental issues in my humble opinion: the gov't can't fix the economy but they could likely make it worse by meddling.

My hope is we get the gov't back to gov't things such as roads, defense, food and drug safety, etc, and not trying to think they can generate jobs. Although they have been really good at generating jobs at the federal level and I believe there have been some increases at state, city and county levels in many places.

And we had all better "brace for shock", because somewhere, some way, we will be touched by the coming austerity measures. I would think for me personally it will be more years with no COLA for military retired pay (2011 will be the second in a row) and most likely in TriCare fees (but TriCare has not gone up in at least 10 years!).

My three cents (had to raise it due inflationary pressures in the opinion markets in Fredonia).

Except that all those federal, state and local gov jobs

produce exactly nothing. Hell, at the rate we're going,

I hope you keep getting your retirement.

Of the things you mentioned, the only valid expenditure

is defense. The others shouldn't be there, at least in

their present form, according to what the founders

set up.
