We made our 4th separate visit to the Orthopedic doctor of the year.:censored::wall::wall::wall:

1st Visit: Me, shin, possible stress fracture, result shin splint on the interior and posterior side of calf (typically shin splints are on the outside)

2nd visit: Oldest daughter playing basketball, came down with a rebound, rolled ankle, broke ankle in growth plate. Boot. They are expensive.

3rd visit, youngest daughter (above) did something, broke her ankle in the growth plate. Another boot, first boot way to big. Did I mention very expensive.

4th visit, see above, wrestling with her brother, she is not a girly girl, they actually started a fight club and she loves ninjas, came down on her wrist, Xray negative for a fracture, but where she hurts and is sensitive, the Doc thinks that she more than likely fractured....yep you guessed it, her growth plate. Put her in a cast instead of a brace due to her "active" lifestyle.

Hell, we just made our last payment THIS WEEK to Ortho Memphis, for the previous visits!

:ugh:

Oh well, it is what it is, glad my kids are active. My oldest son better watch out, she will be using it as a club before too long!

Absolutely, there is no issues with growth, even being in the growth plate. That area is very soft, due to growth, and easily broken, but it can also be an area that requires surgery's due to the function of the growth plate. So far, beating a piece of wood, we haven't had to do surgery. Oh, last fall, my son broke his wrist, both bones, classic "Swan neck fracture".

WOW! They have grown up Tough! LOL

We are very active, outdoors, sports, camping, etc. My son actually fell off the monkey bars at a soccer game. That was a horrible site seeing him walk up this small hill, screaming, holding his arm that looked like a swan neck. :shudders:

Yeh, but all that and she's still cute. Would you call that a disarming smile?

Dude, you have no idea. That girl.....dang finger I'm wrapped around! LOL!

You're raising them up like Spartans. Excellent. :ugh:

We aren't raising any "soft" kids you see nowadays!

She has these little Ninja toy's that she plays with and was heading over to a friends house for a playdate, my wife asked her, are you going to take your ninja's, she said, "yes", my wife asked "Does so and so like to play with ninja's?" in which she replied in a very a matter of fact way, "Of course, everyone likes Ninja's!" I almost cried!
