So I'm up @ ORSA this morning on the bench rest range. Three of us have shot a total of about 40 rnds of .308 between us over 20 minutes. I'm shooting @ the 200 yrd target when a 6 pointer walks right out in front of my target!! OMG!!!!! He stood there for about 10 seconds looking right at me. I had him dead to rights in my cross hairs. No I didn't take the shot, despite his begging me to. Damn those no hunting rules on the range. I couldn't believe it.

The Holly Fork range in Paris is the same way. You can be blasting away in the evening and the deer don't mind a bit. I have watched them walk right across the range just begging to get shot.

Crazy critters, elusive one day and seemingly carefree the next.

I was at a shooting range in south Florida and had a Florida Panther walk just behind the 1000 yard gong. Wild pigs used to come out all the time. They are pretty oblivious at times though. The Panther was cool.

We were out at the range early one morning about a month ago. We had set up at the rifle range so my buddy could dial in his hunting rifles. I was playing with my AR on the 100 yd target. We hear this odd noise, we'd been hearing turkeys out behind the range all morning. All of a sudden here comes some idiot on a golf cart. Apparently he was taking a short cut from one end of the skeet and trap range. It's not like we weren't making any noise...

He's lucky he didn't run into a bullet.
