glock 27 recoil spring lb?

the bigger spring on the oe recoil rod/spring pack sprung over the lip on the rod assembly which made it slide back over the smaller spring; so after a little online research i've found that this happens some times on the subcompacts and am now ordering a wolff rod and spring.

i'm sure this will be asked so the gun has about 300 rounds through it.

now the question:

should i get the 16lb spring which i think is the factory spring rating or the 18lb? maybe both and try each?

gonna call glock on monday and see if they offer to send a replacement also.

I fool with aftermarket Glock rods/springs occasionally (I like Wolff 15lbs in my G19), but I'd just stay stock with the 26/27.

Glock will sent you a new one and what happened to you is fairly rare.

Can only find a hand full of instances like this on the net considering how many of these little glocks are out there I was pleased to find there wasn't many having the problem. Then it's also nice to see that I'm not the only one.

Just ordered both, I have tinkeritis and will just have to see for my self how they work. Would still like to hear if anyone has tried the different weights in a 27.

well glock didn't even ask any questions and is mailing a recoil rod/spring assembly.

Current Gen2/3 factory weight on the G19/23 is 18#.

If it has ever changed (don't think so, but I'd have to research it to be positive), it's been many, many years ago.

ran 4 mags of random ammo throught the old 27 with the 18 lb wolff springs and guide rod today and so far I like it. Was afraid that light slow stuff wouldn't cycle right but no problems to report. Didn't try the 16 lb springs but will play with them too when time allows.

Had to leave a message with glock who then left me a voice mail. I called back and left another message with my address and today had 2 new recoil spring assemblies in the mail box. That was easy.
