Building a gift for Dad.

After seeing one of my ARs the last time I was home, my father has a desire for one. The only problem is he will never go out and buy himself a gun like that. Today I took the first steps on the road to going AR shooting with my pop.

First I procured a hunk of aluminum with some holes in it. Rounded up a parts kit and stock, and some simple tools.

Excuse the poor, low light photos.

Threw an upper on it to test function, and it works like a charm.

Since my dad will be using it for a target rifle, I will more than likely change the stock to an adjustable target stock, and his upper will be an optics ready flattop. I can't wait to see him pull the trigger!

Nice move Xring. Your old man must be a good one. Don't forget some ammo as a stocking stuffer.

It gets better, Mom is chipping in for some nice glass. His buddies all reload, and I have a nice deal worked out with them for ammo.
