Dang....and you live in the Memphis area? I'm surprised you can get around easily on a bike b/c the last time I went to Memphis, I swore I would never go back there again after experiencing some stuff I would never thought I'd experience....

I tell folks I live a 5-mile life-- almost everything I do is within 5 miles of my house- that's just 20 minutes on an easy bike ride.

Older areas of cities built before strip mall architecture took over are often great places to ride bikes-- They were built on grid patterns, so there are lots of wide, lightly traveled back streets that parallel the main drags-- in the suburbs you have mostly just main roads to ride on that take you to subdivisions full of cul-de-sacs going nowhere--- So, pre-1960 areas of cities are often great for biking.

Living near the U of M I can attest to this. You could get to just about anything you needed by walking or riding a bike in no time. I have since moved to really East Memphis and I can still get where I need to within no time, but it takes a car.

Cool to see all the outdoor entusiasts that also own guns, I usually run into the anti gun, hippy types when I kayak and backpack, not that they are all bad, just uninformed sheep.

Primary hobby is riding, racing, and wrenching on my motorcycles, second hobby is brewing beer and mead, the third hobby down the list is the guns but it has become a little less of a hobby and more of a job as I have started making a number of weapons parts as a machinist. It has really gotten me back into shooting though as I had gotten away from it some in the past years due to my racing schedule.

On top of all that I was racing sports cars on a Regional and National level for a few years but have since sold off the race car and gotten out of it. It was just taking up too much time and money and I was enjoying the motorcycles so much more.

6. Music, not playing, just really love music

7. Collecting knives

Jason, I'll take a fifth of mead if you please.....

I will see what I can do. I do not do much mead as I just started trying it a year or so ago. I do have a batch of an ancient orange mead that is aging right now. It should be ready in 5 or 6 months. I currently have two Coffee Stouts, a Scottish 70 Schilling, and a Kolsch in fermenters right now and will be brewing a Sweet stout next weekend.

I recently have decided to try my hand at cheese making as well. Still have some time before my first attempt is done.

Anything having to do with cars, mostly my 89 Mustang or helping my brother dream up go-fast ideas for whatever he's planning on getting in March. Reading anything I can get my hands on--important works so far include the Bhagavad Gita, The Art of War, Chesty Puller's biography, and the majority of everything considered "classic" English literature, though the list is MUCH longer. I also enjoy theatre and am an amateur novelist and screenwriter (yet to be published).

couple people have mentioned aviation. im very interested in talking to a local instructor about using my GI bill to learn to fly. from what i understand i can use it for that problem would be nto having a plane ^__-

Junglist

If you have a private pilots. You can enroll in any part 141 school you like and the GI bill will pay 90% of the courses you take.

I used to instruct at a 141 school and most of my students were on the GI bill. PM me if you have other questions.

Reading. Mostly combat-fiction such as Tom Clancy. As well, considering I'm 15, don't rule out comics!

Manga: Crack is cheaper

Most flight schools have their own planes. Plus make sure the flight school is on the list of institutions the GI Bill is approved for. I looked into the same thing since I got my Private Pilot's License when I was 17, but decided if I wanted a career in aviation, I'd want to be a mechanic. I may still go that route. Now I'm just paying off some debt from my time in the service and looking around at what's available.
i meant once i got it what do i do with it.

I've always wanted to do that. I almost bought a kayak to do some caches along the river here, but couldn't cough up the money for the kayak.

Bkelm18, I've got a basement full of kayaks. If you ever want to borrow one, let me know and I can hook you up.

Hobbies other than shooting? That has gotta be a trick question. I can only think of two productive ways to spend time, one is shooting ( for sake of simplicity this includes reloading, hunting, reading gun books and magazines, going to gun shows, talking to other shooters, and visiting shooting websites. ) the other is working ( to pay for all of the above ) anything else is just a waste of time.

Yours does that too?

Mine will get a wild hair to repaint the bathroom at 10 at night. I hate paint fumes when I am trying to sleep.
