I read quite a bit, lately been on a kick reading about The Cosmos...stuff about time, space, the physics of the universe, etc....read that stuff before bed and see if you can sleep :). I also play a little guitar, download a lot of stuff into my I-pod, and every once in a while I'll build a model just because it's good for learning patience.

Darkstar, I'm glad to hear you're comfortable reading Cosmo. Even though it's primarily a women's magazine, guys can learn a lot about what makes women tick.

I was born and raised in Athens, I wish there was a Chuckie Cheese there =

As for hobbies, I'm an aviation enthusiast - when its warm I like to play golf...

Glad to see another Athenian around. We do need more good places to eat around here, but apparently we are not big enough.

I run a gun shop. Eventually I might make some money doing it.

Other interests include home schooling my 13 yr old son, studying Torah, and reading, especially memoirs of soldiers in Vietnam.

Playing, raising my kids, reading non-fiction books, used to do brazilian jiujitsu but quit that and am now getting fat for lack of excercise.

Hmmmmm. Guns and shooting; motorcycles; making horrible sounds come out of my guitars; shooting a little pool; restoring military surplus rifles; and housecleaning...since I am retired and get dirty looks when I don't vacuum, etc.

Boating and geocaching. Combining the two and geocaching from a boat is the ultimate in fun for me.

I've always wanted to do that. I almost bought a kayak to do some caches along the river here, but couldn't cough up the money for the kayak.

i enjoy the range and playing tennis, even in cold weather.but the fun thing to do is when i combine the two and shoot at old tennis balls

My motorcycle is my other hobby. I used to collect hot wheel size mustangs and some other die-cast cars, i still have them but that was a money pit. Guns is my main money pit now.

This me on the Tail of the Dragon on my ZZR1200

thats a nice ride up there.i was on my way there when i wrecked mine a couple of yeras ago.

Chasing women, reading, watching movies, camping/hiking, cars, and the one I dont get to do enough: Sleeping.

Aviation, reading, this dang computer, travel. But lately, its been 99% guns, guns, guns. The other 1% has been spent on chasing women lately. That's more of an avocation than hobby, though...

And, of course, my critters.

And music.

And, I'm now hooked on TIVO. D#@* satellite dish...

Most flight schools have their own planes. Plus make sure the flight school is on the list of institutions the GI Bill is approved for. I looked into the same thing since I got my Private Pilot's License when I was 17, but decided if I wanted a career in aviation, I'd want to be a mechanic. I may still go that route. Now I'm just paying off some debt from my time in the service and looking around at what's available.

Hey Rabbi check out a book called The 13th Valley. If you like books about Vietnam this is one of the best I have ever read. It's fiction but not a "Rambo" style book. It's one of my 5 favorite books I've ever read. The author is John DelVecchio. The book may be out of print. I have not seen it in bookstores for a few years but you could probably get a copy off of Amazon.com or some other place.

Its a pretty deep read, not just action scenes but how each of the guys in the platoon deal with war, race, and a lot of other philosophical things. An amazing read.

Hobbies are kinda put on hold for now since we are saving so we can build a house. I'm in the process of getting a clutch in my camaro along with some other small things. Its my baby. I've been spending alot of time playing the Wii we got a few weeks ago. This thing is addicting.

I am a fanatic for bicycling-- I own 8 bicycles-- most of them work most of the time! I ride almost everyday-- to work, to the store, even brought a new pistol home on my bike once. I have 2 bike trailers for hauling cargo- brought a wheelbarrow home from Home Depot with my bike last summer. My wife and I like to take bicycle trips of several days.

Got rid of my personal car 7 years ago-- I rarely drove it, so I gave it to my daughter. My wife has a car I can use in a pinch. Between us we burn about 10 gallons of gas every 6 weeks ---she can walk to her job. More money for ammo!

So- bicycling. And a little gardening.

Dang....and you live in the Memphis area? I'm surprised you can get around easily on a bike b/c the last time I went to Memphis, I swore I would never go back there again after experiencing some stuff I would never thought I'd experience....
