After 11 yrs in the military, looks like I'm coming back home to TN

Raised in Nashville (Madison) from since I was in the 5th grade. Did AFROTC at TSU and after graduating, spent the last 11+ years as an Aircraft Maintenance/Logistics officer. Due to overmanning in my career field, they decided to get rid of 30% of us, myself included. Now we'll likely head back to middle TN (maybe the Gallatin area?) so the wife can finish nursing school. If you know anyone that's hiring, let me know...I'll email you a resume.

I also am an NRA Certified Instructor and currently teach in Florida, where I'm stationed. I'm qualified to teach Basic Pistol/First Steps, Home Firearm Safety, Personal Protection In the Home, and Personal Protection Outside the Home (both are advanced classes). Hoping to get certified in the state of TN or find somewhere that needs an instructor. Also looking for somewhere to continue shooting IDPA.

Anyway, thought I'd introduce myself since I'm the new guy!

Welcome. You'll find lots of ex-military folk hewre, and not a few Air Force. What kind of work will you be seeking?

I'm an aircraft maintenance officer by trade, so I've been leading and managing Airmen for 11+ years (on 10 different airframes) so I'm trying to find something in the aeronautical industry where I can use my skills. Unfortunately I can't think of any of that type stuff in middle TN, so where I'll work/what I'll do is still up in the air.

Well, we DO have an airport around here and at least one aircraft manufacturing facilitry as well.

Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc., but Isee that they have been bought by another company. They have been here for many years under several names. they used to make the C-5 wings at one time:

You have Embraer on that side of the field near Vought as well. Smyrna air center down the street. Nothing available in line mx at BNA. Good luck.

Try the Air National Guard. There are units in Knoxville, Nashville, and Memphis. Sometimes there are full time positions. Can't hurt.
