odd military rifle

seen a rifle in a shop dated 1952 bolt action cetme sights and flash supresser in 308 but think it was an original 7mm can anyone tell me about this rifle and is it worth 349.00 exellent shape its a sweet looking gun the rifles in it look great also. Thanks AL

It's one of the best surplus rifle's I've ever purchased, shoot's well, has good sight's and doesn't take up a lot of space in the gun safe. It does kick like a mule though and a slip on recoil pad is a good ideal. I didn't want to modify mine because I knew the history behind its design before I bought it and haven't regretted the purchase.

Yup, I was gonna say its an FR-8. I've been looking for one personally, that seems to be about what they're running is in the $350 range. Passed one up in murfreesboro at a gunshow a few months back for $200 and I've been kicking myself ever since. Didn't read that link, but they were used as a training rifle for the cetme, which is why they share a bunch with them.

Thanks guys gun was gone when i got to the shop today.I just dont buy a gun on a whim .Have to know a lil bout them.But i know the price range and what they are for the next time i see one. AL

Just make sure if you do get one that it's the FR-8 and not the FR-7 if you plan on running handloads through it and shooting it much.
