Well that works with me as well. It just seems if our primary defense is a scanning system and it alerts repeatedly on an individual then that individual whether a child or an adult needs to be subjected to a more detailed search before passing through if that is our only system of prevention in place.

Folks need to decide just how much of this they are willing to put up with. I've made my decision. It's zero. I won't fly anywhere. I'ts ok with me if they all starve.

There will be no "enhanced security" until we quit playing this silly game of inspecting nuns, three year olds with teddy bears, and old white people in the name of politically correct "non profiling". I say we need to profile. Until we face up to that truth, none of this malarkey means anything. It's a matter of time until something happens. No amount of 100% frivolous, intrusive inspection of everybody (...other than those most likely to be terrorists...) by union yahoos and childish chumps will "enhance" security in this country for the air traveller.

I know it's gonna piss some people off, but I really don't care:

The answer: Profiling.

The best answer.

I doubt if I will ever see a TSA station. I rarely fly

except with my brother in his plane. I think the TSA

was a huge price to pay, freedom wise. You can use

anything you want to secure us from being able to

do harm, but I don't think we are the enemy. This

situation is going to be the only thing blowing up.

how about this Metal detectors, drug and bomb sniffing dogs. If you set those off, then you are subject to other means such as pat down and or screenings.

Agree 110%. Frankly, I'm a danger to myself when I get around those pinheads. They make me see red, and did before they started grabbing people's nuts. I swore off commercial air travel several years ago. I have flown some charter in the last few years, but it usually has to be worth the drive to get me there.

I should add, if I fly I am going to wear a athletic supporter. If they touch it, I am going to say they where trying to touch my junk as that is the only way they could have go that close.

BTW, I don't think I want a non medical person checking me there. (Not to crazy even for a medical person to check, I just think it is just as uncomfortable for them as well.) I don't know what that person's sexual orientation is, maybe they have people doing the screening that are really enjoying going to work.

Everybody needs their junk grabbed by a gay guy at least once. Builds character :)

Are you serious? Are you really ****ing serious? I can't tell if half the **** that you type lately is you just looking to start something or if that's really how you think.

You think a 3 year old needs to be patted down by a TSA agent? I'm not saying that people can't hide things on their kids, and yes they use them as bombs overseas, but I don't think a kid needs to be patted down like that. There are plenty of other ways to go about screening a child that small. Even if it takes a few extra minutes.

Yes, I am serious. I'm not doing it to troll, either. If the child sets off the metal detector, then they should be searched. Period. I don't care that you all don't like the idea because I'd rather be safe than sorry. All it will take is one bomb on a child somewhere and you all will be changing your minds. It's almost stupid to not search the child, that's because people like you all think there will never be a threat on a child and that is how easy it is for a terrorist.

You quote Benjamin Franklin and say you don't mind profiling, how absurd you are! What about the rights of Muslims that are in this country and what about their liberties? They are immigrants just as your families once were. It just shows the double standards that 95% of this board lives by. How many of you live by the standard, "If it ain't white, it ain't right"? It seems like racism and ignorance are abundant in this thread as well as others. If a Muslim sets off a metal detector check him, if a child sets off a metal detector check it, if a white, Chinese, black, or whatever else sets off a metal detector, check them. You shouldn't judge people on their religion or colour of their skin...ignorance ignorance ignorance. What say ye?

Now that I bring this to your attention you will say you aren't being racist, just preventative, or whatever other lame excuse you can think of. There are extremist Christians just like Muslims.

I expect two-fifths of you to not respond, two-fifths of you to attack me without reading my view or attack me for no reason related to this thread, and the other one-fifth to realize the err of your ways.

The Israelis do not rely on profiling alone. In fact, we don't know all the details of how they handle airport security because they don't openly share that info for obvious reasons. So, be careful what you ask for. There is technogy involved that they keep secret (and I have a feeling that might upset some people here who always want full disclosure in everything the govt. does 24/7). What they have shared with us is a good starting point and a lesson in how to truely handle airport security without letting emotions get in the way.

First of all, wait time from parking lot to waiting area is less than 30 minutes.

They throw several people at you starting with the drive into the airport. These people are highly trained and make face-to-face contact and look for any sign that you're not just an average patron.

If they see one of the many behavior indicators they're looking for, you get some questions. Continue to act strange, you get searched, and likely some more questions. Most terrorists are terrible actors, and can't handle this amount of scrutiny. Most confess quickly.

If you're a non-jew, it's very likely you'll get extra scrutiny. And that's just the way it is. They're obviously more worried about non-jews because they're the most likely source of attacks. Any football/basketball coach worth his salt will make sure to double-team the most dangerous player on the opposing team. It's not profiling, it's properly disbursing your resources to manage the higher percentage of threats. Does it upset the double-teamed guy? Sure. Not fair? Nobody ever told you life was fair. Don't like it? Then don't fly.

Lastly, patrons don't know exactly what is happening in the background, how officials are trained, what technology is being used and when it's used. Do you feel a Democratic society requires full disclosure? Too freaking bad. They have a country to protect. Don't like it? Move to America where planes are hijacked and flown into national treasures.

Again, if you're all good, you get through all this in less than 30 minutes. Sounds like a good deal to me.

That's fine. There's no need for profiling or special exemptions in the civilized world.

I refuse to fly because of the security too.

I know that we do need some security and agree that it's gone way too far.....but the answer is not profiling!

There are several reasons for this.

1) We are not Israel and that is not what this country stands for.

2) Brown people are not the only ones that can harm us.

3) If we allow profiling for this then what's to stop the Government from profiling us too? A lot of people in this country are scared to death of gun owning Republican nut-cases...

This is already happening. Declaring your firearm and traveling through NY or NJ can get you arrested no matter what the "law" says : NRA-ILA ::

"Special Advisory for New York and New Jersey Airports: Despite federal law that protects travelers, authorities at JFK, La Guardia, Newark and Albany airports have been known to enforce state and local firearms laws against airline travelers who are merely passing through the jurisdiction. In some cases, even persons traveling in full compliance with federal law have been arrested or threatened with arrest. Litigation on this issue is ongoing.

Travelers should strictly comply with FOPA and with airline and TSA policies regarding firearms transportation, avoid any unnecessary deviations on the way to checking in their baggage, be well acquainted with the firearms laws of the jurisdictions between which they are traveling, and have any necessary permits or licenses ready for inspection."

I'm talking about being profiled for being a white, Christian, southern, gunowner. Not having problems traveling with a gun.

This is that slippery slope so many here are always talking about.

I do not claim to know the answer.....I just know that profiling is not it.

This could be considered profiling. They're arresting you based on your being in posession of a firearm in their jurisdiction in order to determine if your gun is legal in your point of departure and/or your final destination. Anyone declaring a firearm is automatically considered a criminal in NY & NJ even if that is not your point of departure or destination. The law is supposed to protect you from this. My point is it's too late. Profiling is here and gunowners are targets and it's not fun. I think we're in agreement about the slippery slope.

Here's a news flash for you....everyone profiles. People, law enforcement, government, take your pick. It's just not fashionable to admit it.

It's freakin' human nature. Take advantage of it.

Though Israeli officials might not admit that it's policy, everyone knows it happens and most aren't concerned because of the success rate and efficiency. It's hard to argue when planes don't fall out of your sky and you don't have to show up 2 hours early to make it through check-in/security.

May want to read up on El Al raydog. Apparently you show up 3 hours early and they personally interview all candidate passengers.

Where are the extremist Christians that are flying planes into buildings?

You guys are totally right. You win.

While we're at it, lets profile every black guy as a thug. Every Christian as an abortion clinic bomber. Every Italian as a mobster. Every Catholic as a child molester. Every teenage boy who's father hunts as a school shooter.

What's a few more rights erased just to save a few minutes of your time?
