In the newest Tennessee Handgun Carry Permit video, a State Trooper says that your permit is not a permit for pepper spray or knives.

Can anyone explain what that puzzling statement means?

He means it's not a permit to carry pepper spray or knives. You don't need a permit to carry pepper spray or a knife with a blade of less than 4 inches.

It was like he was saying that you needed a different permit for knives and pepper spray which didn't make any sense.

I'd rather have a hand gun either way.
