I share a lease with Kevin, Jeff, and Rich from Deer Ridge Innovations in Stewart County, West TN. They have invented a great gun and bow mount that they all avidly use to get some great footage. My question too you is, I am looking into filming my own hunts. I plan on using the gun and bow mount, but do any of you have any experience filming your own hunts? Also, I would love some camera recommendations however, they must meet these requirements:

Lightweight

Compact

HD Capability

Able to withstand recoil

Thanks guys!

I've tried filming a few hunts but only using small, cheap video cameras.

Usually I film when I'm bow hunting, it can be tough doing it yourself I will say that.

It throws something else to think about but I enjoy it, still haven't got a kill on camera, a few good misses..lol

I use a camera arm mounted to the tree or a tripod when I'm in blind.

From the videos I've seen I don't like the bow mounted cameras because of too much movement from the bow.

Think about weight and the media with camera, If you can find the cameras that take SDHC cards you be better off.

You can just start getting into a lot of money fast with them.

I use Pinnacle Studio for the editing.

Here is a great site for info.

My Swing and a Miss the first days of 2010 Turkey season..

I have the feather that I shot off in my truck as a reminder to not shoot low..lol

I think I was moving too much in the blind because he just would not come closer.
