Rifle Season

Recommended Posts

I had a little fork buck come in working his rub line this morning so I had to have a little fun with him. I let him walk, but kept grunting him and spraying a little estrous and he would come charging back. He fell for it three times, but then just kept going. Never even started to flag. Idjut.

I also had a nice doe at about 175 yards, but by that time I was shivering all over and didn't trust my shooting. Electric socks are on my Christmas list, the 1200 gram boots weren't enough this morning once the snow and wind started taking their toll. :)

hunted this morning, I honestly didn't think it was too bad, then again I dressed like I was hunting in IL.

Heard a lot of shots around me but I didn't see a thing.

I tend to hunt in more secluded parts of the WMA's maybe too secluded..

Found a big area of Timber that I didn't know was there that had a lot of fresh signs so I'll try it with the bow sometime this week,

I had planned on going this past week but the wife had to have surgery to remove her gallbladder so I stayed home to take care of her, then I got sick. I don't have a bow so I'm going to take this time and do some more scouting and coyote hunting.

Hope your wife gets better. I had to cancel a SD pheasant hunting trip a couple of years ago because my wife had to have surgery on her arm. She did not think it was to funny when I asked her if she could delay her surgery a week.....will not ever make that mistake again. B)
