Rabbi,

As a vet myself I find your opinion of us distasteful. It is and will always be impossible to win a war with your hands tied. And thats exactly the task we were given.

I believe you said that the opinion of the army was just above drug addict.

personally, I think thats horsepuckey. there were less drug users in the army than in general population, per capita...simply because the army weeded out the drug users.

Rabbi, you read too much crap from folks who are trying to "speak truth to power"...i.e leftwing moonbats.

chances are those folks went over to viet-nam, stayed in the rear and made stuff up...journalists have been doing that for a long time now.

I know quite a few troops that were in the army back in the 70's...very fine soldiers all of them.

they get crapped on by the journalists simply because the journalists were and probably still are, weeny boys that couldn't win a salad fight. So they get jealous and do the only thing they CAN do...lie and slander.

back in DS, I saw one of those "journalists"...

he wouldn't talk to anyone less than an O-2..he was afraid of the lower enlisted and NCO's..hell, all we wanted from him were the superbowl scores, news from the world..etc

he made it very plain that he had nothing to say to us...so it was explained to him that perhaps he was in the wrong unit...we were a team and as a team, didn't like ****ty attitudes like his...he was on his own.

he found another unit to annoy with his high minded attitude.

The military certainly didn't get their butts kicked in Vietnam. The problem came from the US and politics. If allowed to do their job without political interference preventing their taking the war to the enemy, we would have won. Nam veterans did very well there on the things they were allowed to do.

And the guys I served with didn't use drugs, except beer.

I think some of us have read or watched too much stuff by military haters.

Let's just all chant about peace and love and then we won't need the military. :P
