My first muzzleloader deer. The T/C Impact placed the bullet perfectly with my aim. No deer heart on the menu this time. I saw a TON of deer this morning. I had deer running around before daylight and then just before 7am I saw 3 bucks chasing does. This was the biggest of the bucks. He was big bodied deer, can't really tell in the pic, but he was heavy. Ugly rack with two broken tips from fighting. I guess it's time to rattle...

I shot him at 7:15 and sat in the stand till 9:30 because I never stopped seeing deer. A doe would come through then a small buck wouldn't be far behind. I was definitely in the correct stand this morning. Breakfast sausage and hamburger in process.

Oh yeah, it was cold here this morning. Luckily I never had long enough between deer to get cold.

Can't eat the rack any way! J/G said he was a big bodied buck...CONGRATS my friend! I didn't go this morning, because I didn't have anyone to go with, and I don't care to hunt by myself anymore. I'm happy you finally got that monkey off your back!

Man I wish I had time to get out there more. I always thought that muzzleloader was the best time to kill a nice buck where I hunt at. I used to hunt everyday of muzzleloader and always saw alot of deer moving. Hope you guys get you a big one this year. I really hope I can find time to sit up in a tree a few mornings.

Jumped a nice doe from her bed at Owl Hollow this afternoon, popped a cap at her, but had my first failure with the GPR :( Patch was too wet & it contaminated the powder with lube, I reckon.

Highlight of the afternoon......I was sat on the floor, under a small tree & had 2 squirrels fightin over which one got to sit on my foot! I also had a little grey fox come within 8 feet & take a poo. Poor little bastard nearly turned inside out when he got into my scent stream! :D

You need help with all those deer Whiskey?? :(

Nice Buck!!

The WMA areas were full, I ended up finding a secluded place, I guess too secluded, hunted all day heard about 10 shots but didn't see a thing.

Today was like most of my season so far, I've seen 1 good buck during bow season and couldn't get a shot but my 2nd season of deer hunting has been rough for some reason.

I've got to find some place beside the WMA's to hunt, need to buy some land or something..

I can remember back as far 10 maybe 15 years ago, and hardly nobody hunted with muzzloader. If they go to "Primitive" muzzloaders as alot of places are, you'll have a lot of WMAs to your self! I'm heading out here in a few. Gonna go try to get me a fat meat doe. If a "bone head" walks near my stand.....I'm going to "call down" the thunder on him!

I always try to hunt straight through lunch when I hunt public land. Often times the deer are pushed past me when the hoards of hunters head to their trucks for lunch. I think I just had a good stand site the last two weekend, because I didn't see near this many deer during archery.

Saw a couple of spikes Saturday morning and what seemed to me to be a "fair" amount of shots.

No sign of the rut kicking in just yet in my neck of the woods, when it does I'm betting it's gonna be hot and heavy...just like over at brother Whiskey's grounds.

BTW...congrats on a very nice buck, Whiskey.

Guess I'll try 'em again in the morning...holding out for a mature buck, however, come next weekend the does best beware!

I got me a little doe this morning. I took a pic of it after I skinned it, I forgot to take one before ha ha. I usually don't take pictures of the doe's I kill but my little girl told me I had to. I pulled the skin back over the skinned part to make it look half way decent.

Congrats! How did her tarsal glans look? Starting to get dark and oily?

Coongrats on the Doe,

I went out again this afternoon, I haven't seen anything the last few times I've hunted.

I might try and get out again in the morning in a different area for a few hours.

Still haven't pulled the trigger hunting with a Muzzleloader yet,
