I think he's thinking of Frost Cutlery.

located on mountain view road in Ooltewah

they have a small outlet/retail area - its their main shipping facility however there is an area open to the public.

Ah, I wondered, as SMKW in Sevierville is like maybe 140 miles from 'Nooga.

There's not much selection on that stretch of I-75, really.

Probably the best selection is Brigade Quartermaster on Barrett Pkwy as you come through Kennesaw approaching Atlanta. If you've never been, it's worth stopping in.

Either way its of no use to me.

Last I checked Ooletwah is off I-75 in Hamilton County so it is the best answer you will likely get outside of big box stores

Ooltewah is old Creek Indian name meaning "Where de hell are we, Chattanooga?"

You're right. It's Frost. It's the closest large knife store around. If a mile or 2 is too far out of your way too bad. No need to be snotty about it.

Amen to that.

+1 for a relevant answer. Wish I had time to stop in on our way back from Atlanta, but that u-turn in Ooltewah was looming and all.......

Cherokee, I appreciate the suggestion. I do. I would be interested in a discussion regarding Frost quality. Anybody have experience with Frost knives?

Brigade is only about a mile off I-75. You can check them out before you go, too at actiongear.com. Growing up, getting their catalog in the mail was my equivalent of the Sears Wish Book. Good memories.

Dang, wish I could have stopped. Would have liked to get a chance to hold an CRKT M16.

Depending on where you are going to be in Atlanta, Atlanta Cutlery has a bunch of military surplus, along with new production stuff.

I carried a CRKT M16 for two years. Great blade. The way the clip was situated in position to the thumb stud ate my pockets alive. Jeans, khakis, all would eventually wear through there.
