Anyone shot a SAKO TRG 22 .308?

I am considering buying a new SAKO TRG for long range shooting and just some plain old fun. I am considering going to South Dakota for a Prairie Dog Shoot and want to be able to reach out past my 22-250 range. I have read really good things about them, but wondered if anyone had any first hand experience with one before I plunk down that kind money on a rifle in addition to a very expensive scope to put on it.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Why such a large leap in caliber size if the game is p-dogs? 6/6.5/7mm would be IMO a better caliber for p-dogs over a 30 if your 22-250 doesn't do the trick. Unless a dual purpose rifle is what your going for and in that case I would go 30 as well and that rifle looks like a good one. FWIW my 22-250 AI was a death ray on p-dogs out to 5-600 yards with the wind in my favor.

Yeah, it wouldn't just be for Prairie Dogs. I want it for paper punching out as far as I can reasonably go, and I just like the looks of it. This will be my wanna-be sniper rifle for fun. I have been considering building a custom gun for some time, but this gives me custom accuracy with no wait and even less agonizing over what parts I want to use. The 308 is just a nice all around caliber that will let me do a lot. I have other calibers for Deer and larger game. I was more curious if anyone had shot one and didn't like it for some reason. I expect I will just order one soon, but figured it never hurts to ask.

Thanks for the responses.

I got you covered in that department. But you are right. That is a bad ars gun straight out of the box from the factory. Have fun with it!
