.243 Factory loads

Anyone hunt deer with .243?

What's your preferred factory load?

I'm looking at 2 different bullet weights, one for varmints (55gn) one for deer (95 or 100gn)

Would I be better doing this, or can I get away with a 'midde ground' bullet weight of around 75gn to do it all?

I shoot a varmit barrel BDL 700 Remington I have had for years. Back when I started I didn't like any of the factory loads. I use a 105

grain Speer over IMR 3031. I have a friend that likes the 80gr GMX from Hornaday.

I prefer 100 grain Winchester silver box for deer, Robbie, not to light, but just right.

100 grain Remington in the green box at Walmart. Probably the cheapest you'll find, it is very accurate in all my 243s, and great for deer. For the most part, the premium ammo with designer bullets are a waste of money. For certain applications, they are worth the added cost, but I find no evidence that the whitetail deer has gotten any tougher in the last 100 years.
