I'm not a huge fan of CNN, but I found this on their website regarding the presidential candidatess views on various topics. For those of you like me that are concerned with gun control, you certainly need to pay attention to how the candidates stand on this issue. Some of these jokers DO NOT need to be in office. Keep this in mind when you vote. Look at this link:

Obama-Supports national law against carrying concealed weapons

:D Ok, I take back what I said about Obama being the lesser of the two evils compared to Hilary. We all may very well be doomed my friends. I suggest we all give the economy a real boost over the next year and buy lots of guns.........:D

I took note of the very same thing.

Obama can support 40 acres and a mule. But a ban on carry would constitute an unwanted and unwarranted intrusion on states' rights. The Feds could get away with it with a concerted effort but I think the backlash would be enormous.

I second that.

Since gun owners overall seem to view the elction based on 2A and RKBA there are only two choices. Huckabee or Paul. Everyone else left supports bans and restrictions.

Don't lose sleep over the Dem's just yet. There is a lot of time left in this game and the outcome is still very much in doubt.

Going off and hording guns or parts will just drive the prices up.

Well, with Fred being out, I'm going to have to go Huckster. There are some things I don't particularly like about him (supposedly he has a temper problem), however, at least with him I will not have to worry about my right to defend myself, even if from him..... lol

One more thing.....

Obama-Supports national law against carrying concealed weapons

The Second Amendment:

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

From the Compact Oxford English Dictionary:

bear1

• verb (past bore; past part. borne) 1 carry. 2 have as a quality or visible mark. 3 support (a weight). 4 (bear oneself) behave in a specified manner: she bore herself with dignity. 5 manage to tolerate; endure: I can’t bear it. 6 (cannot bear) strongly dislike. 7 give birth to (a child). 8 (of a tree or plant) produce (fruit or flowers). 9 turn and proceed in a specified direction: bear left.

And I thought Obama was well educated. Hmmmm..........

More importantly we must be diligent on our attempts to keep our local government working for us. When the local government is on your side it tends to creep up to the state level and finally to the national level.

The states "should be" sovereign but the young men in Washington DC seem to forget that and start enacting laws that take precedence over the state level. Shouldn't be but they do. Personal opinion is it is time to send them all back home and start fresh.

Then again, that was what old George did about 230 years ago.

Gun control will not be a deciding factor in this election. Voting for someone that claims to be pro-gun but has no chance of being elected is giving a vote to the front runners. As scary as it may seem right now that is Hillary and Obama. Both have said straight up that they want to take away your guns.

<O:p</O:p

Like most Americans my priorities are jobs, the economy, crime, and my right to defend myself and my family against people that want to kill us. (Not to be confused with the 2nd Amendment)

<O:p</O:p

I hope things change in the coming months because right now I don’t have a viable candidate to vote for. Wouldn’t it be great if we ever had an election where people were voting for someone instead of against someone? But sadly those that would be great at the job; don’t want it.

Funny, I just said that in another thread. I guess we're all on the same page...

I'm voting for Ron Paul. He may be a wing nut, but he's a strict Constitutionalist. If our forefathers today ran for public office they'd be called win nuts too...

With my vote I intend to send a personal message, though it may fall on deaf ears...that I'm tired of the crap thats going on in Washington. the elitist attitudes that the legislators take..as if they have the right to dictate to me my own freedoms.

we need a change.

Regardless of who gets elected President, it is much more important that we elect a VERY CONSERVATIVE Congress & Senate......

One should also consider what kind of jurists the next President may appoint to the Supreme Court.

I am more scared of Obama than I am of Hillary but I will not vote for either one.

I agree with you on the election I thought Fred would be the one I could vote for instead of voting for the lesser of two evils.

Is the scariest of all the presidential candidates to me on about every issue he talks about, not just firearms. It also scares me how wildly popular he is and how much people really believe the guy and want him to turn us into communist Russia.

Unfortunately, this may be the first time I do not participate in the general election. Fred is out and Paul won't win the nomination, and I don't see much difference in any of the other candidates, Democrat or Republican. If I do vote for one of the Republican lesser-of-two-evils, it will be with a clothespin over my nose. I'm no political analyst, but I am hoping for an Obama nomination--I think he's more beatable than Hillary.

after 12 years of Bush's and 8 years of Clintons in the white house I do not think we are a democratic republic anymore. Seems similar to a royal family(s) running the place.

I can't stomach any more years of these families in charge.

Obama would be better than a Clinton again.

What would be scary is an Obama-Clinton ticket or vice-versa.

I could see that happening. I don't know if Clinton would want to be number 2, though.

Clinton is "Number Two" in my book, if you get my drift.

In some ways Obama is better simply because without connections and with a very radical agenda he will get nothing done and be voted out after 4 years.
