That's it, Jackson's done. According to Newschannel5, with 100% of the vote in, he lost by 2%.

While he was instrumental in getting us guns in restaurants, he really screwed us with the "gunbuster" sign law. Buy-bye.

Too bad the "D" did not get Naifeh as well. Oh well, re-districting will get him next time.

Next most important thing is to talk with you Rep.s and be sure Beth Harwell is not elected Speaker in TN. She is a RINO of the worst proportion, and terribly anti-gun.

I can't stress this enough... Beth Harwell as speaker would be a disaster for the 2nd Amendment cause here in TN.

Fincher (D) lost big in our district last night. He was as pro 2A as the come, and instrumental in castle doctrine, long gun in cars, rest carry etc.

He was replaced by Ryan Williams ® who helped to POST our city parks as a councilman!

SUCKS IMO, but we were able to hold onto anti gun, pro illegal alien douchenozzle Sen Charlotte Burks (D)! WHOO HOO!:biglol:

Brady Bunch is all over this kind of stuff, BTW. I guess they had to find some silver lining:

Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence : Media

Twenty-seven Democratic members of the U.S. House of Representatives who were endorsed by the National Rifle Association were defeated yesterday, while only two incumbent Democratic House members who co-sponsored a major gun control bill this session lost their re-election bids.

Of the 49 Democratic incumbents who lost, 29 (59 percent) had an A rating from the NRA and 25 (51 percent) received financial support from the NRA. Of the 176 incumbent Democrats who won reelection, 145 (82 percent) did so without the NRA endorsement.

In contrast, only two of the 101 Democratic House incumbents who co-sponsored legislation to close the gun show loophole lost yesterday. Those losses were offset by Democratic House seat pickups by gun control supporters in Louisiana and Hawaii.

The D next to his name killed him. Well see how it all works out in the end for 2nd amendment supporters.
I was hoping that it would be the end of Sherry Jones this time but I'm stuck with her again.

Also was hoping that the "D" and his voting record would take Jim Cooper down but it wasn't to be.

i hope most of you realize that Dems carried as many or more pro gun bills in the past few sessions as Repubs did... and we lost several of them last night. I dont see an all that bright a silver lining for the 2nd ammendment as some do, im actually a little worried about getting sponsors this next term.

I honestly wonder if votes like Jackson's for gun bills didn't cost them their seats. Plenty of Dems stayed in their seats around the state and country so I can't help but think we may not be seeing much progress on gun bills in the next 2 years. Doubt we'll see anything taken away, but I bet we will see cautious reps about bringing things up.

I checked, and the Republican that beat Jackson has an NRA "F" rating.

A pro-gun Dem really needs to reevaluate where they stand with the progressives and socialists in their party.

yep my point exactly, there will be several people suprised when they go into session and we see the true colors of some of the new legislative body. But hey, this is really all on Doug, he got relaxed and thought he was untouchable. Hell I was told he even went on a hunting trip out of town last week. So he didnt campaign at all.... whats sad is the other guy didnt either, and he woke up the next day and said... "Damned I freaking WON???"

Doug Jackson is the only dem I've ever voted for. He was one of the good guys.

The guy that beat him (can't remember his name) is a fruitcake. His name was something else, he went gay, and then he went back straight and changed his name. I did notice his "F" rating with the NRA but all the public statements he's made he says he's a avid 2nd supporter. I guess we will see but don't get your hopes up.

I'm surprised Jackson lost. The "Jackson" name always held alot of weight in Dickson. Most people who voted for the other guy had no idea who he was or where he stood, they just wanted to replace the "D" with an "R".
