I hate country music! I'm finding country music left me not the other way around.

I'm a huge fan.  I've gotten into Hilung a bunch. I'm trying to talk the Wife into going overseas for a concert.

Yanno, I looked at the pic and just skipped over the post. If it were an embeded Youtube link, I might have gave it a listen. I'm glad you asked again, cuz that was a great song. What a gut punch there at the end.

I'm not sure what genre of music this is, but a lot of "country" music is going like this. It's not really country, but not really rock either. More like Electric Americana.

Back in the '70s, I was introduced to Jerry Jeff Walker.  Not just the music itself, but the man himself.  I had attended one of his concerts in Houston and sat in the nosebleed section totally enthralled by the country outlaw who wrote "Mr. Bojangles" and other lesser-known hits.  Little did I know that in a few days I'd meet him at a chili cookoff and become totally impressed by his kindness and Texas genteelness.  The next day, we sat together on some old stumps in the iconic town of Luckenbach, singing his songs and laughing at his jokes.

Jerry Jeff died a few years ago but his memory lives on in the minds and hearts of so many fans of that country musical style.  Here is a sample of what hooked me back then.  Perhaps you'll find his music catching yourself.

I actually couldn't get the link to load and play. I did a copy/paste to youtube and listened a few minutes ago.

Powerful song, a gut punch as mentioned.
