Giving Joe a break and looking forward to his shows coming in Nov.

Meanwhile I'm (still) stuck in the seventies and listening to Led Zeppelin

IMHO, Genesis was at their best between 1978-1983.  I think "Duke" (1980) was their best album. :2cents:

Speaking of the 80's.....

Selling England by the Pound got me hooked on Genesis after hearing them on the King Biscuit Flower hour (?) I think that's what it was called. Played on WKDA when they were birthing classic rock.

I also bought their first LIVE album at the same time. Anyway, kinda like them pre-80's stuff better.

Just got a heads up that Joe Bonamassa has a new Live album coming out, already pre-ordered.   :woohoo:

King Biscuit Flower Hour... that brings back some memories!  Had forgot about that til you mentioned it.  Made me look on eBay to see if any records were still out there.

There's a few, but not cheap.  As much as $250! :stunned:

This song presents a tough challenge for me these days. Both globally, and right on my street where my friends and neighbors are dealing with so much hurt and brokenness, how can I be the light I am called to be in a darkened world? What can I do to help so many who need it?

Sorry not sorry to get all faithy here. This song has really been poking me. I, as a dude, am happy. I have a great wife, an OK job, and a wonderful home. However, I don't feel I'm living up to all I've been blessed with. I feel a conviction that I am doing a fine job living for myself, but not much else, and I'm just praying and trying to figure out how to grow into something more than that, and to be the servant that God wants and Jesus exemplifies. It's harder than they told me it was in Sunday School when I was a kid.

Oh... and Joe Bonamassa... just cuz he seems to be the bee's knees on TGO lately. ;-)

I always thought this was one of the best Skynyrd songs that never got the attention it deserved. And Street Survivors one of their better efforts.

Agreed on Street Survivors, probably my favorite Skynyrd album next to Pronounced.

I really like this cover of Honky Tonk Night Time Man. Really just clean professional playing, the guys doing what they do. I remember reading there was a guest guitar player doing some slide work on it, one of their buddies IIRC.

A cool funky kind of number that always makes me smile.

And of course Steve Gaines getting to show his stuff. What a gift.

Captain Beefheart - Too Much Time

Great lyrics:

Sometimes when it’s late and I’m a little hungry, I heat up some old stale beans, open up a can of sardines, eat crackers and dream about somebody to cook for me.
