Credit Card. Well in my recent dealings with the insurance adjusters you must have the receipts if you want to claim anything that is not "standard" equipment. So in my case with out receipts I they would use a DPMS rifle as the starting pont since the lower on mine is DPMS. And a complete DPMS rifle can be had brand new for under $600. That would be a HUGE loss for me.

Now with the reciepts and photos I can prove how much it will cost for a replacement (I also have a rider on my insurance for full "new" replacement costs). So they must pay for the NEW replacement and not just the used replacment value. If not they must only make you "whole" which means a used gun of the same make and model (since tech. yours is used once you buy it just like a car) and those prices can vary wildly so you might only get a fraction of what you will need to replace it. even if you buy FTF have a receipt written with the sales price on it and keep it for your records along with photo w/Serial #'s of course.

Most of my long guns are off the rack with an optics package. Easy to find replacement value.

mines not..........so it's kind of hard to find a value.

I was not going to take a chance on getting screwed so I took it around to a few gun shop around here trying to get a value. they ranged from $1000-$1500 used so it depened on who was looking at it and if they knew what each custom part was worth. I think dealing with the insurance company will be the alot of the same
