GUN SAFES for sale around Knoxville or up to 1 hour from Oak Ridge??

Recommended Posts

Alright, I've been to Gander Mt, Bass Pro Shop, Tractor Supply ............ Coal Creek, Frontier and Friday I drove out to Southern Securities in Kingston .......... which ended up to be a pole barn with a for lease sign out front.

Are there any other Safe stores around this area? I'm looking for a decent safe such as Liberty or equivalent with good fire protection (at least 60 minute). Looking to spend up to $2000.00 for the right one but I just can't seem to find very many. I would like to get a 36 gun or larger with the dehumidifier, power, lights and door storage panel. The closest one to what I want is at Gander - which I know is way over priced. I can order one but I'd really like to check them out FTF before buying one.

I don't know for sure if it is still there, but there used to be a warehouse that shipped large safes off John Sevier Hwy. Knoxville. They were a wholesaler, but had scratch and dent ones for sale to public. I bought a decent sized Champion there a few years ago. I can't remember their name or exact address. If you were going east on John Sevier. There was a road to the right ,up a hill, and it was on top of hill (think it was original London Fog factory). It was before you get to National Dr.

It could be gone by now, maybe this will jog a response from someone else?

That's the Champion Safe 'Outlet' store. They were still there earlier this year when I went by. There was a sign out by John Sevier Hwy, where you turned off onto the smaller road.

I can give you directions to the one off lovell, if you like, its right off interstate. I doubt it still there because its been several years since we bought. I couldn't find it in the yellow pages but won't take but a minute to check. but if your coming from J.C. its on the other side of town and probably not worth the trip.

It's still there. I pass it almost everyday. They have a nice selection as well. Let us know!

I got mine about 15 minutes South of Chattanooga at Randy's Pawn shop. They sell the Liberty brand (which are mage in the US). I could not believe the selection and prices and have no problem sending anyone their way...And no, I have no affiliation with them, but after much research and talking to other folks, it was the place to go.

Thanks for the replies ............... I've looked at TSC. In fact, I've looked at the Cannon as well as the Fat Boy a few times now and thought about picking one up. But after some thought I realized that I am looking for something a little bit nicer - as this will be a long term investment. It may sound corny but I really liked the Liberty safes at Gander and wanted to compare a few other brands. Liberty is a bit pricey for me but I like the fact that it has many more options available. I know from some past research that most Big Box safes are basically the same in Fire/Theft protection .......... 12G steel, etc............. and the extra bolts and smoke/mirrors don't really matter, but I really liked the look, finish and the idea of the door pockets on the Liberty (as this will most likely become somewhat of a piece of furniture) - I guess I see it as a little more bang for the buck along with a realistic piece of mind. Right now I'm leaning toward a Liberty - which seems a little overkill for what I have, but I'm sure I won't think that down the road. I may take a look at the store off JS this weekend to compare a few more if time permits.

Well, if you want a Liberty you should at least call Randy's. I could not believe their prices. I ended up with the 25 gun Franklin model that handles 83,000 BTU's for 60 minutes. It has tons of room and was easy to mount. Well worth the drive because you will save a good bit of $$$.

All in my humble opinion of course....: )
