Ok so if someone has been out on paroll sp? for sometime and they just now call his "employer" and find out he has no worked there, is he notified at all? This certain individual recently made a plea deal with some police and the person he ratted was a High interest individual so the crime he made was completely looked over, and dropped. Is there any chance of him hearing of this before they come and pick him up for lying about working? This individual has also been in the jail system over half of his life, he's in his 50's, so he isn't a new offender by any means and this is his third time out on paroll sp?

You don't need advice from police officers, you need it from attorneys. Specifically, one or more that know the details of the particular case you're talking about.

( LEOs can't make any binding "plea deals". That's up to the courts only. )

Well the judge made a court date and let him post bail so that sounds like a deal to me. And I'm not worried about legal stuff I just wanted to know if it is protocal to just show up and arrest the guy what? Let's just say I'd he does find out I will be worried for some people close to me. This was the first time his officer had ever called the employer to check since he has been out of jail.

You didn't say "judge" you said "police", earlier.

As far as an arrest... if a warrant is issued, the police'll come get him, or pick him up when they encounter him.

In the end, it will be the court/judge and his parole officer who will decide what to do with him. The police will simply do what they're told, whatever that might be.

Jamie is dead on. Things work different in different systems. The way they're done in Shelby Co is completely different than Fayette Co, which is different than the way they're done in Madison Co, etc.

Find someone familiar with the area, and preferably the case itself.

And it's "parole". ;)

Yeah wasn't quite sure the spelling, I'm just concerned for my families safety at this point. I know some people I could talk to, I just found out about the phone call tonight so I was going to see if any of you guys knew. Thanks for the information I'm not very familiar with how the legal system works with these things. Someone I know who had a minor offense and was just in prohbation, and yet this man who originally went to jail for armed robbery and has been in jail since 18 has somehow faked working at this employer for this long. I just don't get why he hasn't been watches closer. The last time he was put back in was for assaulting a police officer.. I'll be on high alert until he is gone. I have been on high alert the entire time he has been out. It's nerve racking.

This part I can answer pretty easily: Because there are far more people out on parole than there are parole officers to watch 'em.

The county I'm in only has 3 P.O.s to handle ALL of the parolees here. And I won't even try to guess at how many that is.

I can tell you that it's more people than I could keep up with.

Yeah the guy was pretty pissed when he found out he hasn't had a job this entire time. He is just one of those people who can't live in normal society.

I’m not real sure what you are asking, but if you are worried about this guy or you think he did something wrong; call his parole Officer and talk to him. Parole Officers do not have the same limitations that Police have. For example Parole Officers don’t need a warrant to enter or search his house; cops do.

Why are you so worried about your family are you the one that ratted this dude out or what?

The guy is my cousin, alot older then me, and he said that he was working at my uncles place of business. My mother is the manager of the business and his parole officer called to ask for his pay stubs. My mother told the officer that he never has worked there since he has been out. My "cousin" is a lunatic , and I'm worried that he will be told that they know he isn't working for my uncles company. Again he is a violent criminal and has been in jail the majority of his life. I'm worried that if he finds out about this before he goes to jail he will do something like burn down my mothers house.

Sounds like one of you should be talking to his parole officer, and voicing your concerns.

That's the problem never said his name or how to contact him, but assuming he found out he has been lying wouldn't that violate his parole?

If you're smart enough to use the computer and talk to us, then you should be able to find out who your cousin's parole officer is.

I mean, you know his name, right? You either know or can find out which court/courthouse he went through?

A quick phone call to the court clerk's office should net you at least the P.O.'s number or office. From there, you call the place and tell 'em the name of the person we're discussing, who you are, etc.

As far as lying to his P.O. about working... yeah, that should get him hooked back up for VOP, but only the folks there that handle it can tell you how it goes.

BTW, I find it a little fishy that the supposed parole officer didn't identify himself and leave a contact number... I dunno what the deal is, but it just doesn't sound right at all.

He knew my mothers full name asked for his pay stubs and when my mother replies he hasn't been working there,he said do he has not been working there for the past nine months? Told her thank you and hung up.

And you think your cousin couldn't have gotten a friend to make the call, and check up to see what information his PO would get?

You ALWAYS get the name, rank/title, and department or office, of anyone from ANY branch of government - local, state, or federal - before you just hand out information. Always.

Anyway, this whole thing sounds hinkey, from what you've said here. I hope you get it all worked out without anybody getting hurt.

Yeah I asked her why she didn't ask him about anything like that. I honestly don't know how they have let him out on parole three times. He must be a good actor in front of the judge. I'm going to be keeping an eye out for him. I don't think he will try anything bc he knows I have several guns, but with people like him you can never tell. We got into a verbal fight months ago and he thought i would back down and I didn't and he hasn't looked or talked to me since. He has never been told off in his entire life and was dumb founded that I was standing up to him. He was makin threats to my stepdad and my renters until I confronted him and then it stopped. He is in his early 50's and I am 20.

You better be ready to hit this dude with a brick.

In light of recent events, I would go ahead and try to find his PO and make them aware of the situation.

Yeah, before he sneaks up behind you and does the same thing to you. People like you describe don't come to your face, they come to your back.

So watch yours.

Yeah, it really shouldn't be that difficult to get in touch with the guy's P.O.. And if you have any trouble, then give a shout to your local PD or SO, and tell them what's going on.
