Driving in to work, a trash can took flight and came bouncing across a church yard and into the road, it hit me in the right front tire and bumper, shot it back into the church yard. there are limbs and crap all over the place from the winds last night and this morning.

They are actually dismissing schools here cause of the approaching storm whuch is unheard of for this area.

They did this on February 5, 2008 here. 6 people died due to tornadoes that day. Get in teh hole!

It's been blowing and raining here, but nothing too bad.

Looks like the worst of it may be past us, unless more forms up behind that last line.

It's certainly weird weather for October...

Ah... no need for me to worry about the storms then... 'cause I pretty much STAY in the hole. :-\

I thought they closed schools down because a student brought a handgun to the school Monday. Ann Holt from Channel 2 News said it was a "threehundred and eighty caliber" handgun.:D:)

I had some business with an attorney down town off cherry street today in Chattanooga. I got back to dayton before the rain started in. I got back about 1:30pm at 1:50pm eastern time my mother who is a school teacher received a call on her house phone that I answered while waiting for her to get off work so we can go some where that was a pre-recorded message stating buses would be leaving about 15 minutes early and that the national weather service said the storms will not be in the Dayton area until just a little after five pm. My dad will still be at work in Oak Ridge but I guess he will just have to be careful coming home.

I'm listening to the scanner right now and there are downed trees/powerlines all over Hamilton Co. We canceled TASK & ESL classes at church because the bad part of the storm is supposed to hit about 6pm, just when we would be heading that way. Looks like the winds hit early.

I feel ya. My squad car has some new scratches on the hood from God-knows-what flying through the air and hitting the hood and windshield as I drove down Walnut Grove before the sun came up this morning. :)

Shelbyville is getting hammered right now according to the news. Had a lot of rain and wind about 10 minutes ago but nothing rotational so my son and I just kept watching TV. Now to wait until the stuff in "Shebvul" gets here. :)

Every time there was thunder or wind, the hounds would have to come and hide under the desk. Occasionally if it gets real stormy, under the desk or bed isn't safe enough and they go hide in the basement.

Makes me wonder how prehistoric cave hounds survived before they were domesticated. How did they ever make it without desks and beds to hide under? To say nothing of prehistoric cave hounds having to build their own couches to sleep on, or start their own fires in the damp dark caves.
