So there is a kid in my neighboorhood who's mother is deployed and his stepfather doesn't want to be bothered with him. So I think I am going to take him hunting, but I want to get him to a hunter and saftey course. Anyone know of one in the Clarsville area? Thanks everyone

If he is 10 or older then he needs it to even get a license. You can buy a 1 time something(forget what they call it ) 1 year license without having a hunter safety class.

wd-40 I will look into that I need to get him up to the complex soon to see how he reacts to a weapon. He has never shot and I explained that until he can hit the center of the target 10 out of 10 he can't go into the woods. That should give him some incentive to shoot.

ADAM, I am only doing what I would have wanted someone to do for me. Hunting is more then a sport it's a survival skill and since his Daddy is lets say a not so into the outdoors the kid should learn something.

Got the Green light to take him out. Next Stop....The range!! We will see what he is better with the SKS or the .270. If I have to I will pick him up (and by him I mean me) a .243 used or something. I'll let you all know how it goes. I appreciate all of the support with this. I think it's a good thing.
