Looks good to me.

At very least, it seems to have all the right buttons and knobs.

I did notice that all the usual forums were there, 'til I logged in, then it was reduced to just a few. I'm assuming that was due to the temporary/test nature of the installation?

Odd. I probably have a permission set wrong. I'll check into it and get it fixed.

Well, if it helps, here's what I see:

Without logging in, all 7 sections and their attendant forums are there. Once I log in, there's The Front Desk, Firearms and Gear, and the Special Interest sections, and their forums. None of the rest show up.

I liked the software. But it was a plain jane on graphics.

I dont come around for the software or the graphics. It the people and staff is why I come around.

The new software is fine with me. As long as the text is in an easy-to-read font and color combo, I'm easy to please.

I really like the features of the current software's 'advanced' wysiwyg message editor. Hopefully the message entry editor would be as good or better on new software.

Are there as many options in the view profile user prefs? Right now with the test forum, it is showing birthdate of all users regardless of user setting, even when not signed in. I try to wear my tin foil tastefully, but birthdate can be a valuable bit of information for identity thieves.

I'll have to check it out on my laptop later. It appears to be fine on my iPhone browser. Just will take some getting use too. Main thing that it word better for you maintaining this great site. I use tapatalk for the most part. Will that still be available?

Have you thought of doing a standalone app for mobile users? Is the ability there with the new company?

The Jeep forum I'm on just launched an iPhone app through End of Times Studios that is very nice. Might be cost prohibitive. They are working on other platforms as well.

This might be no interest due to everything else you got going on and cost, but thought I would ask. If you want to take a look, let me know I'll give you the info so you can take a look.

Off topic, did you get a chance to go out on some offroad trails in Moab?

I signed on and tested the new software message editor. It seems to work fine.

Functionality seems to be fine but I found the color scheme harder to read.

I agree with Farman. I like seeing a preview of the first line or so when I hover over a thread and didn't see that in the test forum.

I like the addition of the "Recent Topics Added" and "Watched Content" on the side. I use the "What's New" button on this forum a lot and didn't find that on the test forum. I suppose the recent topics area would be a similar function.

Thanks for your efforts in keeping this place THE place.

Top right - "View New Content."

I voted I like it because there's not a choice for "I could take it or leave it." One of the motorcycle forums I'm on uses this software so I'm used to it. They also changed to it recently and it will take some getting used to, like the new content piece, and a few other things like search are different. Otherwise it's all right. As has already been mentioned, I definitely like the preview feature. But knowing the reasons for the switch, etc. I'd say this is a good software to go to and I know you will make it work.

Functionally, I think the new site software is fine. It does everything I use in the current software, especially if the hover-preview can be added.

Not really a big fan of the color scheme, but that's probably because I'm color-blind and have a hard time looking at red / greens / browns. The graphics and colors will evolve into something I'm sure everyone will like. What's important is the content is there.

Thanks for a great site, whatever it runs on!

New site is okay, but I like the current one better. After using it for a bit, I could definitely get used to it.

Definitely get more color schemes. That cocoa theme is.....well..........No!
