The pawn shop I have been to one time and I wasn't impressed. They had nice guns but way over priced and wouldn't haggle. The new store "Precision Firearms" right down the road I have heard very good things about. They also do transfers for $20.

The SuperPawn across from the Seymour KFC also boasts "200+ guns in stock"

The reason they have over 200 guns is they are over priced on everything. They have a used 442 in there priced at $450 and most new ones are $440 and a $50 rebate. I check with them from time to time but never buy.

I went in there one day for a cheap .22, and up on the wall I saw an old beat up gun. I asked them how much and they replied $180. I was speechless, I mean this gun was beat in bad, and they have used 10/22's in there for the same price of a new one.

That doesn't surprise me.

They are higher than a bus load of Mexicans going to a Los Lobos concert.

Stopped in at Precision Firearms, about 1 mile past the KFC on Chapman.

Met Dan the owner, he has been open about 5 months and operates it with his nephew Jeremy.

Small, not a lot of accessories or long guns. 2 cases of handguns, with a pretty decent selection from different manufacturers.

Prices seemed very competitive for a brick and mortar.

Examples

Ruger SP101 $500

Ruger LCR $440

Sig P238 $575

S&W M&P $650

Walther P22 $380

Colt 1911 (not sure of the model, but full size) $975

He does sell ammo, only got a price on .45acp ball, Magtech $27. My guess is all of his ammo is $3 - $4 more per box than WM; I'd rather spend the extra few bucks and support an LGS over a big box.

I didn't ask about transfers, but from a previous post, $20 is more than fair.

He also advertises for HCPs, but again, I didn't ask.

I did buy some targets for some potential Sunday shooting.

They seem to be good people and their prices on 1911's are a little high, but not far off the norm for ET. I bought a Dan Wesson VBOB from the about six months ago. They were very hard to find at that time and the prices were a little inflated. They have a CCO there now; the first one I've ever seen in person.. Ron

I have found that most pawn shops are way overpriced on their firearms. There is one near my home in Powell that was asking more for the used guns than what the MSRP is on them new. They also had an old pepperbox revolver tagged for over $1000. Funny thing is that they had a copy of the Blue Book entry that showed the value at $875 sitting right there with the gun. Lately, the best deals I have found on used firearms has been right here on TGO.
