I bought these several months ago, I had to sand the left grip down 2millimeters to allow the safety to function, I just put them on and I love them, the pic does no justice as I am not a photographer,

nice flower and pink polka dot background.:lol:you can tell who is married based on the backgrounds!

LOL, what can I do, she lets me buy guns, I let her pick the sheets, seems like a fair trade :)

Very nice, I think we can overlook the sheets. :P

They're ivory. Only a pimp from a cheap New Orleans whorehouse would carry a pearl-handled pistol.

.....or a pimp from Cookeville with a nice selection of guns!

Now thats what I'm talking about

If that is true Ivory from Elephant Tusks then I truly dislike you.

Other than that they are pretty.

They are Genuine Elephant Tusk Pre Ban Ivory, if that makes you feel any better :D

A little, but I still don't like the fact that Elephants were killed for just their tusks. Don't get me wrong, you want to hunt, you go right ahead, just eat what you kill and use as much of the carcass etc as you can. I don't believe in Trophy hunts.

Those grips are oustanding. I love how they contrast with the frame.

tusks shmusks, they are nice.

Brian so as not to offend you if I ever get Ivory grips they will be faux ivory

I agree with you completely, I worked in Africa (Abidjan, The Ivory Coast) for 3 years on a rotation, and had several opportunities to bring Ivory back with me, and I never did, the good news is that in the last few years they have been cracking down on illegal pouching and the Elephants have a much better chance of survival now, having said that I do enjoy the Pre Ban grips for my 1911's, if you saw all of the Ivory that I have seen in those 3 years, you would be both amazed and disgusted,

Don't worry about offending me. I don't really dislike the guy. I just dislike poaching and hunting for trophy only...

I have given up hunting since the chipmunks have vacated my house, lol. Never really was into hunting anyway.

Don't the game wardens(??) disable( drug) elephants to cut their tusks back so they will not be poached? Don't know for sure why i think that, maybe I am just way off in something I thought I knew.

All of my ivory grip shave come from elephants that fell over dead from natural causes. Followed one for 9 years waiting on him to drop!

I need to meet up with Willis at the range soon so I can give an unbiased opinion on all his sweet ass 1911's.
