For the Larueminati . . .

Got really bored on my day off, and started looking over at bARf15.com when I wasn't turning wrenches on the Mustang . . . found something that got my attention, to say the absolute least. Very likely, when/if they go into production, I will own one. First off, I pretty much have to support fellow Texans; second, this pistol is a thing of utilitarian beauty.

Without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, the Larue Tactical/STI 1911!

Yes, I know . . . the bushingless barrel means it doesn't need the 'Dillo. I'm really digging the USP-style slide. The rear sight is probably the coolest part, though. Awesome attention to detail.

Lost the original thread title over the course of the day, but a search on google/bing/yahoo/wtf-ever for "Larue Tactical 1911" is what brought it up.

All I can say is . . . :D:love::bow: x 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000!

It looks great. But I'll have to bust Mark's balls about the picture. They have a 'dillo bushing wrench shown, but no bushing on the gun...........

I have no interest in a 2011, but it sure is purdy. What I really want to know is where can I get one of those 'Dillo bushing wrenches.

That is purdy. Maybe the 'dillo could double as a bottle opener. ;)

Great minds think alike, Jeff. :stare:

I could easily like a 2011, but I would be scared I would scratch it.

Nice looking gun.

I noticed that as well. And for those looking to get one of the 'Dillo bushing wrenches, they work, don't scratch the finish, and they DO open beer bottles as well. There's a lot of other cool/useful gear at the Larue store, even for those who aren't into AR's.

Jeff, I'm not 100% sure, but there was something about "if" they do it, being available in both 2011 and standard single-stack 1911 frames. I'd be going with a single-stack, probably with a light rail. Basic black, with front Mepro night sight and rear 10-8, and a single-side safety. And very likely a standard barrel, bushing, and guide-rod. Simple, classy, reliable. :)

I'm still half asleep and started looking at the pictures without reading your whole post. I kept thinking how much that reminds me of my STI Trojan. Even thought about posting that you should check out STI if you like that gun.

Then I saw the grips and read the rest of the text. :stunned:

What's the difference between that one and the regular 2011 from STI? I'm not really familiar with LaRue.
